Heating & Cooling

Looking for one system that keeps the house cool in February and warm in July? A reverse cycle air conditioner does both, and the features that matter most are inverter technology, a strong Zoned Energy Rating Label score for your climate, the right capacity for the room, and the controls and filtration that suit how you actually live.

Choosing well is less about chasing the biggest number on the box and more about matching a system to your home. Here’s what each feature actually does, and how to narrow the range down to the right unit for your space.

Turning your home into a chilled oasis is easier than you think, even in a summer scorcher. You just need the best home cooling appliances, a steady flow of chilled drinks and frozen treats, and a sneaky heat-busting small appliance or two. Our checklist will help get you and your home primed for a perfect summer.

The best time to plan for new air conditioning? Before those steamy days (and muggy nights) arrive and you’re at risk of making a rushed decision in the heat of the moment. Whether you’re looking to install a split system or window wall system in a new home, a do-it-all reverse cycle system for year-round comfort, or you’re hot under the collar to upgrade to a feature-stacked smart model, it pays to research which type of air conditioner you need. And where it should go!

“Picking the wrong spot for your aircon means it will have to work harder to keep you cool, which can lead to higher running costs,” warns Scott Bazley, The Good Guys Buyer – Seasonal.

With so many options to choose from, we’ve put together this handy guide to help make finding the most cost-efficient cooling solution for your home a breeze!
