It’s amazing how silent and powerful this fan is. Comes with a circular stand and amazing battery life definitely my new weapon for ourdooors this summer.

At a glance
The Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool is a compact portable fan for personal cooling at a desk, bedside or around the home. It suits users who want strong targeted airflow, quiet operation and easy repositioning without cords. Key strengths are its bladeless design, adjustable nozzle and rechargeable battery. The main limitation is that it is built for focused personal cooling rather than cooling a whole room.

Things to consider
This model is best for close-range personal cooling, so it is less suitable than larger mains-powered fans for moving air across a full room or for all-night operation beyond its battery run time.
Personal cooling effectiveness
8/10 - strong close-range airflow with up to 25 m/s air speed makes it effective for one person nearby.
Noise level score
8/10 - designed to reduce turbulence and noise, making it better suited to quiet personal spaces than many small fans.
Desk space suitability
9/10 - compact size and small footprint make it easy to place on crowded desks or bedside tables.
Energy efficiency rating
No Australian Energy Rating label; rechargeable personal fan designed for targeted cooling rather than whole-room air movement.
Portability score
10/10 - lightweight 1 kg design and built-in rechargeable battery make it highly portable around the home.
Key benefits
- Focused airflow: Delivers targeted cooling where you need it most, making it well suited to desks, bedside tables and other close-range use.
- Air speed up to 25 m/s: Provides a strong burst of airflow for faster-feeling personal cooling in warm conditions.
- Rechargeable battery with up to 6 hours run time: Lets you move the fan around the home without needing to stay near a power point.
- Portable form factor: Easy to carry from room to room or pack away when not in use.
- Twisting nozzle: Helps direct airflow in different positions for more precise comfort while sitting, resting or working.
- Bladeless design: Improves everyday user safety by removing exposed fast-spinning blades.
- Reduced turbulence nozzle design: Supports quieter operation for personal spaces where lower noise matters.
- Compact footprint: Fits more easily into tight desk areas, bedside tables and small apartments than larger pedestal or tower fans.
Q: Is this fan strong enough to cool a whole room?
A: No. Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool is built for close-range personal cooling, with focused airflow rather than broad room circulation. It suits a desk or bedside position, but it is not the right choice if you need whole-room air movement.
Q: Will the battery last through the night on one charge?
A: Not usually. Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool runs for up to 6 hours on a single charge, so overnight use may fall short depending on how long you run it. It is better suited to shorter sessions at a desk, bedside, or around the home.
Q: Is the Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool quiet enough for bedside use?
A: Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool is designed to reduce turbulence and noise, so it is better suited to a bedside or study than many small fans with harsher airflow. It still produces fan noise, especially when you want stronger cooling at close range.
Q: How much desk space does the Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool need?
A: Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool suits small surfaces because it measures 98mm high, 70mm wide, and 200mm deep. That makes it easier to place on a crowded desk or bedside table, though it still works best as a close-range personal fan.
Q: Can the airflow be aimed without moving the whole fan?
A: Yes. Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool has a Hushjet nozzle that twists in any direction, so you can point airflow where you want it. That makes it easier to use beside a bed or monitor without constantly repositioning the whole unit.
Q: Does the bladeless design make it safer around children or pets?
A: Yes. Dyson Hushjet Mini Cool has no exposed fast-spinning blades, which reduces the risk of accidental contact during normal use. It is still an electrical appliance, so it should be kept stable and used under normal household supervision.
