What Is The Process Of Designing A Flat Pack Kitchen

This is the fun part of the process. You’ll be amazed at the huge range of choices, finishes, colours and materials that you can choose from. But we’ve been able to break down the design process into three simple steps; choosing the kitchen style, picking your appliances and deciding on your design and layout.

1. Choose Kitchen Style

There are many popular styles of kitchen that you can create from a flat pack to suit your home and your taste. The hard part is settling on your favourite style! Here are some of the ones we love at the moment:

  • modern kitchen is the heart of the home, and is where living and dining areas become one. Simplicity is the key here to create a functional space.
  • The Hamptons style kitchen is relaxed, elegant and evokes peace and calm. It’s a little seaside without being too beachy.
  • A classical country kitchen creates a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. With added pops of colour and texture from appliances or cabinetry, it can have lots of character too.
  • The Scandi look is all about minimalism. Clean lines, timber textures, metallic accents and light, muted colours give you the Nordic feel in your kitchen.
  • An industrial style kitchen is as sleek and stylish as you are. For the New York loft look, blend rough textures with smooth surfaces and loads of exposed elements.

2. Kitchen Appliances

The Good Guys always recommend an appliance first approach when creating a new kitchen. That’s because choosing the right size and location of your appliances can save you time and hassle in the long run. A huge new fridge with folding French doors may be an entertainer’s paradise, but you need to make sure you have the room for it. If you love black appliances (and who doesn’t?), it’s a good time to think about how they will fit in to the whole kitchen look and feel you’re creating.

Another important point is that you should also consider where your utilities are when planning your new kitchen, and placing your appliances accordingly. Planning around where your gas, water and electricity connections are will make your new kitchen renovation a lot easier.

3. Kitchen Design & Layout

Now it’s time to get creative and settle on the designlayout, benchtop, cabinet style and colour of your new perfect kitchen. Add some of your own personal touches to see your style come to life. You’ll be surprised how big a difference you can make by swapping out the handles or cabinetry finishes. Elevate your kitchen design with a with Caesarstone benchtops instead of laminate and see what difference they can make.
