What is the Black Friday Sale?
Black Friday started as a US-only event, but it's now one of Australia's biggest shopping dates too. This year, it falls on 27 November, about a month before Christmas, making it the perfect time to tick off your Christmas list or treat yourself. It's one of the busiest shopping days of the year, known for some of the best deals around. For a full rundown on how it works and how to shop it smart, see our complete Black Friday guide.
Best gaming deals Black Friday
If you’re looking for a great deal on Black Friday, there are a few brands to keep an eye on, including PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, as well as Logitech for PC accessories and headsets. David Linehan expects some items to be more popular than others. “Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals are going to be a big hit, make sure you head down early so you don’t miss out,” says David.
Best Gaming Laptops and PCs
Wondering how to pick the right gaming PC or laptop for you? “When it comes to gaming PCs or laptops, it’s all about getting the right balance of power and performance within your budget; plus, if you’re getting a laptop, you’ll want to consider power usage and weight, too,” says Erem Karabadjak, The Good Guys Buyer – Tech. Also consider the types of games you’ll be playing and whether you need to prioritise ray tracing, multi-screen set-ups and/or refresh rates.

Best Gaming Monitors
There is a perfect monitor for every PC gamer, depending on your desk space and the kinds of games you play. A larger smart monitor can double as your TV. A curved ultrawide monitor can replace a multi-display set-up for racing sim fans. Meanwhile, first-person shooter fans will need to prioritise refresh rates over almost all else.

Best Gaming Headphones
Don't overlook headsets when you're building out your set-up. A quality headset gives you a real edge, letting you pick out footsteps and their direction, or hear when it's time to change gears in a split second while racing. Look for a high-quality mic and Bluetooth connectivity, so you can take calls or jump on Discord alongside your game audio. Wired headsets work with every console. Most Xbox wireless headsets need their own dongle, and PS5 wireless headsets generally work with everything except Xbox.

Best Gaming Accessories
Comfort matters most when it comes to gaming accessories, along with key travel and shortcut buttons on your mouse. Beyond controllers, keyboards and mouse, you might think about streaming gears like microphones, stands, media remotes, and a decent mouse pad. Worth remembering: even a high-DPI, professional-level mouse is only as good as the surface it's used on.

Best Gaming Console Deals
Choosing between PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch usually comes down to the games and features that matter most to you. PS5 and Xbox both deliver console-exclusive titles and 4K gaming, while Nintendo Switch wins on portability, perfect for gaming on the move or as a second screen alongside the TV. Many Black Friday console deals come bundled with extra games or controllers, so it's worth checking exactly what's included before you compare on price alone.
