Find your perfect freezer this Black Friday
A single fridge freezer compartment rarely stretches to a full grocery shop or a bulk meal-prep session, and The Good Guys has Black Friday deals across chest and upright freezers.
Chest freezer Black Friday
Chest freezer Black Friday deals sit next to Upright layouts: freezers from Hisense, Westinghouse and Haier come in Chest and Upright layouts, so the layout that fits the space narrows the Freezers range quickly. Only some freezer models carry a deal in the Black Friday sale, not the whole range.
Black Friday freezer deals: deep freezing or everyday access?
A chest freezer usually holds more for its footprint, well suited to deep freezing bulk meat, seafood or home-cooked batches. An upright freezer opens like a fridge door with shelving and compartments, better for reaching for frozen items regularly.
Type | Best for |
|---|---|
Larger capacity for its footprint, better for bulk or deep freezing | |
Easier everyday access with shelving and door compartments | |
Compact footprint for a garage or small space |
Bar freezers and where they fit
A bar freezer is the smallest of the three types, built to slot under a bench or into a garage corner rather than stand as the household's main freezer. It suits overflow storage, drinks and ice for entertaining, or a small household that does not need chest or upright capacity. Placement matters more than most people expect: a freezer running in an uninsulated garage works harder in summer heat than one kept indoors, which shows up as a higher power bill over a full year.
Manual-defrost models need periodic defrosting to stay efficient, while frost-free models handle that automatically at the cost of slightly higher running power. Checking which type a specific model uses before buying avoids a surprise once it is installed.
Bar Freezers suit compact spaces, Chest Freezers suit stocking up on frozen goods, and Upright Freezers add easy-access shelving. A second freezer also lets you stock up on frozen goods when they are on sale.
Tips for shopping Black Friday freezer deals
Check the real capacity needed before buying; an oversized freezer left half-empty runs less efficiently.
Compare energy star ratings closely, since running costs add up more on a freezer left on year-round.
Measure the doorway and hallway width the freezer needs to pass through, as well as the room it will sit in.
Look for a high energy rating, frost-free technology that prevents ice build-up and manual defrosting, and on an upright freezer easy-access shelving and door baskets.

Yes. Freezer deals run as part of the Black Friday sale at The Good Guys. Options include chest, upright and bar freezers, from brands like Hisense, Westinghouse and Haier.
It depends on how the freezer gets used day to day. A chest freezer holds more for its footprint and suits deep freezing or bulk storage, while an upright freezer is easier to organise and reach into for everyday items. Comparing capacity and footprint side by side during Black Friday makes the choice easier.
Freezers are generally treated as big and bulky delivery items. Installation is arranged separately through Home Services, including fridge and freezer services. Each freezer's product page lists its delivery options, and your nearest store can talk them through.
Freezer deals are not limited to Black Friday. Freezer and fridge deals run at The Good Guys all year, with the Boxing Day Freezer Sale the next major event after Black Friday and the EOFY sale around June and July.
