Powerful
I was sceptical about this product due to commercial industrial sized vacuum cleaners. However the suction on it is a amazing bag glass which is also a bonus in a very busy lifestyle and household.

Great machine
This is the first bagless vac I have ever used. It is so light and does such a mighty job. I also bought a Hisense Smart TV from you fellers recently and I am so happy with it. I live in country NSW and I am so happy with the service I have received, although I was unable to register my Gold Service Extras because of internet problems and it kept telling me my nearest store was Toowoomba. I never go to Toowoomba.

At a glance
The Electrolux 500 Series Bagless Vacuum is a compact barrel vacuum suited to small to medium homes needing reliable everyday cleaning on carpets, hard floors and upholstery. Its strengths are pet-hair cleaning, a 2 L bagless bin, multi-stage filtration and easy storage. A fair limitation is that its 8 m cleaning reach and compact design make it less ideal for larger homes than bigger premium models.
What it’s great for
- Everyday home cleaning
- Pet hair pickup
- Mixed floor cleaning
- Upholstery cleaning
- Small to medium homes
Where it works best
- Apartments
- Small homes
- Medium homes

Who it’s for
- Pet owners
- Apartment dwellers
- Small family households
- Everyday home cleaners
- Renters
Things to consider
Its compact barrel design, 2 L bin and 8 m cleaning reach are practical for regular cleaning, but larger premium vacuums may cover bigger homes with fewer bin empties and less unplugging.
Pet hair performance score
8/10 - Pet-friendly design and included pet nozzle make it well suited to routine pet hair removal.
Large home suitability
Best for small to medium homes rather than large homes
Carpet vs hard floor fit
Well suited to mixed homes with both carpet and hard floors
Noise level rating
5/10 - At 86 dBA, it is functional for regular cleaning but not especially quiet.
Portability rating
8/10 - Compact barrel design and ergonomic handling make it easy to move and store.
Key benefits
- Bagless 2 L bin: Lets you clean small to medium homes without buying replacement bags.
- Pet nozzle: Helps lift pet hair from upholstery and other commonly used surfaces in homes with animals.
- Combination floor nozzle: Switches between carpet and hard floors for easier whole-home cleaning.
- Multi-stage filtration: Captures up to 98.9% of microdust particles above 1.0 microns for cleaner exhaust air.
- Crevice and brush 2-in-1 tool: Makes it easier to clean edges, corners and detailed surfaces with one attachment.
- Upholstery nozzle: Suits lounges, chairs and fabric surfaces that need more targeted cleaning.
- Automatic cord rewind: Speeds up pack-up after cleaning and reduces cord handling.
- 8 m cleaning reach with 7 m cord: Covers most rooms with fewer power point changes.
Q: Is this vacuum suitable for a large home clean?
A: It can cover most rooms, but it is better suited to small to medium homes than very large layouts. The 7 metre cord and 8 metre cleaning reach reduce unplugging, though bigger homes may still need more stops and bin emptying.
Q: How noisy is the Electrolux 500 Series bagless vacuum?
A: Electrolux EFC52513DB has a minimum noise level of 86 dBA. That is workable for regular cleaning, but it is not a low-noise barrel vacuum, so it may sound fairly loud in smaller rooms or open-plan spaces.
Q: Can it handle pet hair on sofas and fabric chairs?
A: Yes. Electrolux EFC52513DB is designed for pet-friendly cleaning on floors and upholstery, and it includes a pet nozzle plus an upholstery nozzle. It suits regular fur pickup on soft furnishings, not wet mess or grooming use.
Q: Does this vacuum need replacement bags over time?
A: No. Electrolux EFC52513DB is a bagless barrel vacuum with a 2L dust bin, so there are no dust bags to replace as part of normal use. You empty the bin instead, which keeps ongoing consumable costs lower than bagged models.
Q: Will it vacuum both carpet and hard floors easily?
A: Yes. Electrolux EFC52513DB includes a combination floor nozzle that switches between carpet and hard floors, so routine room-to-room cleaning is straightforward. It is built for mixed surfaces, not wet-floor pickup.
Q: Can this Electrolux barrel vacuum pick up wet spills?
A: No. Electrolux EFC52513DB is not a wet and dry vacuum, so it is intended for dry dust, dirt and pet hair only. Liquid spills need a different cleaning method, otherwise the vacuum can be damaged and the bin can become messy.
