Extremely good vacuum
Very impressed with this vacuum. I vacuum every day with a cordless stick vacuum because I have dogs so I was surprised when I first used it to see how much dust and dirt there really was on my floors. Really good suction and easy to clean.

At a glance
The Electrolux UltimateHome 700 Bagless Vacuum is a mid-range barrel vacuum built for homes with both carpet and hard floors. It offers strong everyday cleaning with cyclonic suction, a 12 metre reach, HEPA 12 filtration and easy bin emptying. Its compact shape also helps with storage and manoeuvrability. One limitation is the 1.6L dust bin, which may feel small for very large homes or heavy-duty cleaning.
What it’s great for
- Whole-home cleaning
- Mixed floor cleaning
- Allergy-conscious households
- Everyday dust and debris pickup
- Compact storage
Where it works best
- Apartments
- Family homes
- Multi-room homes
- Homes with carpet and hard floors
Who it’s for
- Everyday households
- Allergy-conscious users
- Apartment dwellers
- Families with mixed flooring
Things to consider
The 1.6L bin is practical for regular cleaning, but it is smaller than some larger-capacity or more specialised premium barrel vacuums designed for heavy-duty cleaning sessions.
Pet hair performance score
6/10 - capable for general pet hair pickup on mixed floors, but no dedicated pet tool is listed
Large home suitability
Good for medium to large homes thanks to its 12 metre cleaning reach, though the 1.6L bin may need more frequent emptying in bigger households
Carpet vs hard floor fit
8/10 - well suited to mixed flooring with a combination nozzle designed for carpets and hard floors
Noise level rating
5/10 - no low-noise claim is provided, so expect typical barrel vacuum sound output
Portability rating
8/10 - compact design, rubber-coated XL wheels and 6.7kg weight support easier manoeuvrability and storage
Key benefits
- 1.6l bagless bin: Holds a useful amount of dust and debris for routine cleaning without needing disposable bags.
- Cyclonic suction: Helps maintain consistent pickup performance during normal cleaning as the bin fills.
- Combination nozzle: Cleans both carpets and hard floors with one main floorhead for simpler everyday use.
- 12 metre cleaning reach: Covers several rooms before you need to change power points, making whole-home cleaning more convenient.
- Hepa 12 filter: Captures fine particles to support cleaner exhaust air for allergy-conscious households.
- 6-step filtration: Adds multiple stages of dust capture to help trap microdust during vacuuming.
- Automatic cord rewind: Speeds up pack-up after cleaning and reduces the hassle of winding the cord manually.
- 2-step hygienic emptying: Makes it easier to dispose of collected dirt with less mess during bin emptying.
Q: Is this vacuum good for homes with pets and carpet?
A: Yes, for general pet fur pickup on floors and carpet. The combination nozzle handles mixed surfaces well, but this is not a specialist pet model and it does not include a dedicated motorised pet tool for deeper hair removal.
Q: Does the suction stay consistent as the dust bin fills?
A: Yes. Electrolux UltimateHome 700 Bagless Vacuum uses cyclonic suction with an 1800W motor to help maintain pickup through the clean, though a full bin or blocked filters will still reduce performance and need attention.
Q: Can it clean multiple rooms without changing power points?
A: Yes. The 12 metre cleaning reach is designed to cover several rooms from one outlet, which suits routine whole-home cleaning. Actual reach still depends on room layout, furniture and whether stairs break up the run.
Q: How easy is it to store in a small cupboard?
A: It is easier to store than a bulkier barrel vacuum. The compact body can be stored vertically or horizontally, and the 6.7kg design is easier to move in and out of a cupboard than heavier full-size canister models.
Q: Will it work across floorboards and rugs with one head?
A: Yes. The combination nozzle is made for both carpets and hard floors, so it suits homes with mixed surfaces. It is a practical everyday setup, but it is not the same as a dedicated power head for stronger carpet agitation.
Q: Is the filtration suitable for capturing fine household dust?
A: Yes. Electrolux UltimateHome 700 Bagless Vacuum uses a HEPA 12 filter with 6-step filtration to capture fine dust in the vacuum airflow. It is a better fit for dust-conscious homes than a simpler single-filter barrel vacuum.
