  This unit is simple to use and does an effective job. Setup is basic and the controls are simple to use. The surfaces can become hot and hence care around children is a must. The handle makes it a little easier to lift and move - although the unit is not heavy. It also has a pleasing appearance.

  Perfect for the nursery

  Its perfect for the babys room that drops to 13 degrees during the night. we set it to 6 before she goes to bed so the room is nice and warm then drop it down to 2. Her room is around 20 degrees all night long. When the temp drops the heater kicks back in and gets the room back to 20. Set and forget.

  Warm and toasty

  I previously had a Mistral brand 1500W column heater I was borrowing from a friend, so this is all I have to compare with. I bought this about 3 weeks ago. The Delonghi is slow to warm up, but when it gets to full power, it's really warm and holds the heat for a while after it's been turned off. I don't know if the Mistral is fast, or the Delonghi is slow, but it works. Very easy to operate. I haven't used the timer function yet, but I've used this sort of dial before, so I imagine it's easy enough to set up. The only gripe I have about the Delonghi right now is that it only has one handle. Don't reach too far it or you'll burn yourself, and you'll have to push/pull it around with one hand. The control side of it seems to be the coolest side, so you can put your hand on it to steady it while you pull it around. Just wish there was a handle on the other side, too. One other small thing to note: the knob you can wrap the cord around is not great. It wraps most of the cord, but the little notch does nothing. You can tuck it in, but once you start pulling it around, it'll come off. Aside from these two design flaws, I'd have given it 5 stars. I live in Victoria and I've used it in Ballarat and Melbourne and can attest that it's sufficient for heating a bedroom at a higher elevation.
