Disappointed
I selected this heater to warm up my bathroom. It is not a big bathroom and I usually turn on the heater for up to an hour in advance. The heater takes the chill off but doesn’t make the room cost.

FIRE HAZARD!!
The metal pin and plastic around it that plugs into the wall gets EXTREMELY HOT! I’m lucky I had noticed, could have caught fire!!

Q: Is the DeLonghi DCH7992ER better for personal heating or for a whole room?
A: It is better suited to personal heating and small to medium enclosed rooms than large open-plan areas. The ceramic fan design warms the air quickly and the thermostat helps maintain comfort, but heat will disperse faster in bigger spaces.
Q: How much does the DeLonghi DCH7992ER cost to run?
A: At its 2200W maximum, it uses about 2.2kWh of electricity per hour. On a typical Australian tariff of 30 to 40 cents per kWh, that is roughly 66 to 88 cents per hour on full power, with lower settings costing less.
Q: Is the DeLonghi DCH7992ER quiet enough for a bedroom or study?
A: Yes, this model is designed with DeLonghi's Silence System, so it is intended to spread heat more quietly than many standard fan heaters. It still uses a fan, so there will be some operating noise, especially on higher heat settings.
Q: Does the thermostat on the DeLonghi DCH7992ER automatically regulate the heat?
A: Yes, the built-in room thermostat helps the heater cycle its output to maintain the selected temperature, rather than blasting continuously. That can improve comfort and reduce unnecessary power use once the room has warmed up.
Q: What is the advantage of this ceramic heater compared with a basic radiant heater?
A: This ceramic fan heater gives faster, more even heat distribution because it blows warmed air into the room, rather than heating mainly by direct radiant warmth. The trade-off is that it is not completely silent and works best in enclosed spaces.
