Looks good
Looks good Good variety of suction / fan levels. Lighting is good. Little bit louder than anticipated - but still far superior to the Smeg it replaced (sounded like a 747 in the kitchen). Recommend as a great brand, fair price and solid product. Good Guys took forever to get it into store for me, and no updating on its status. Contacting them was ridiculously difficult - GG contact centre no help whatsoever. Had to keep going instore, and team were not getting a response from the Schweige rep to advise on delivery. The original 2 weeks, turned into 2 months.

It suits medium to large kitchens, offers simple push-button controls, bright LED lighting and easy-clean filters. Things to consider
It offers strong extraction, but buyers prioritising a quieter cooking environment may prefer a premium silent or externally motorised rangehood.
Large kitchen suitability
8/10 - 90cm width and 1080m3/hr airflow make it well suited to medium and many large kitchens with regular cooking demands.
Noise level vs category average
5/10 - likely typical for an onboard motor rangehood, but not as quiet as silent or externally motorised alternatives.
Odour removal performance
8/10 - strong extraction is well matched to frequent cooking, steam and stronger odours from frying.
Ease of cleaning
8/10 - dishwasher-safe aluminium mesh filters and simple button controls keep routine maintenance straightforward.
Key benefits
- 1080m3/hr Extraction: Strong airflow helps clear heavy cooking smoke, steam and odours during regular use and higher-heat frying.
- 90cm Canopy Width: Broad coverage suits standard 90cm cooktop zones and helps capture rising fumes effectively.
- Adjustable Height 54cm to 103cm: Flexible chimney height makes it easier to fit different ceiling heights, bulkheads and cabinet layouts.
- Three Fan Speeds: Lets you match extraction power to light simmering, everyday cooking or heavier frying.
- Two 3W LED Lights: Low-power 3W lights improve cooktop visibility for food prep and monitoring while cooking.
- Push Button Controls: Simple physical controls are easy to use and straightforward for daily operation.
- Three Aluminium Mesh Filters: Multiple filters help trap grease before it builds up inside the unit.
- Dishwasher-Safe Filters: Removable filters simplify routine cleaning and help maintain extraction performance over time.
Q: Is this Schweigen rangehood a silent or external motor model?
A: No. The TSH-900 uses an onboard motor and is sold as a non-silent wallmount model. Expect more noticeable fan noise than Schweigen silent or external motor designs, especially when you run it on the highest speed.
Q: Can the TSH-900 be installed in kitchens with lower ceilings?
A: Yes. The chimney height adjusts from 540mm to 1030mm, which gives more flexibility where bulkheads or lower ceilings limit space. It still needs enough wall area above the cooktop and room for ducting.
Q: Will a 90cm cooktop line up properly with this rangehood?
A: Yes. The canopy is 900mm wide, so it is sized to match a 90cm cooking zone rather than a narrower cooktop. That broader coverage helps when steam and smoke spread across several burners or larger pans.
Q: Is the extraction strong enough for frequent frying and smoky cooking?
A: Yes. Schweigen TSH-900 uses a 1080m3/hr onboard motor, which suits regular cooktop use and higher-heat frying where smoke builds quickly. Results still depend on having ducting that does not overly restrict airflow.
Q: Does this model recirculate or does it need ducting outside?
A: It is designed as a ducted rangehood, not a flexible recirculating model. That suits buyers who want stronger smoke and odour removal, but the kitchen still needs a suitable path to vent cooking air outside.
Q: How much cleaning does the mesh filter system need?
A: Routine cleaning is straightforward. The TSH-900 has three removable aluminium mesh filters that can go in the dishwasher, so grease build-up is easier to manage than with fixed filters, and regular washing helps maintain extraction.
