Look Mum No LINT
We bought this front loader to replace the LG Top loader we have had for only four years. We were sick of all the lint on clothes after washing. We could not be any happier with this new LG machine. This new machine is fantastic. No filters to clean after every wash, no lint whatsoever, with every wash we have completed so far, (at least 15 washes). It is very quiet, easy to use and does everything it claims to be able to do.

Good machine, but noisy
I have had the machune for two months, and overall happy with it. Love the steam setting. It is a really noisy machine though, and living in a townhouse I hesitate to use it at night in case it disturbs the neighbours. I hope it doeesn't get worse over time.

Great washing
Love this LG washing machine. My laundry is now cleaner and smells better, compared to when I used another brand and the machien broke down after 2 years. Another great thing about this machine is my laundry is very dry at the end, so I just need to hang it for an hour and it's completely dry. Love it!

Super impressed
The express wash is done in 15 minutes, really handy with the kids and the clothes are spun dry right up to the max in that time. Super impressed

The LG 8kg Series 3 Slim AI Front Load Washer is a compact front loader designed for couples or small families who want full-size washing capacity in a smaller laundry space. Its strengths are the slim depth, AI-assisted fabric care, steam Allergy Care and app control. A key limitation is that it misses some premium extras such as auto dosing and stacking kit compatibility.

Things to consider

Fabric care suitability score
8/10 - AI Wash, Wool, Easy Care, steam cycle and 6 Motion Direct Drive support gentler treatment across different fabrics.
Water efficiency rating
4 star WELS - 82 L per wash
Family laundry fit
Best for couples and small families
Noise level vs category average
5/10 - no noise rating is provided, so it is harder to assess against quieter premium front loaders.
Allergy suitability
8/10 - includes an Allergy Care cycle with steam, which is useful for households wanting extra care for everyday garments and towels.
Key benefits
- Slim Depth Cabinet: Fits more comfortably into tighter laundry spaces without reducing the 8kg wash capacity.
- AI Wash: Adjusts settings to better suit fabric type and load size for easier day-to-day washing.
- Allergy Care with Steam: Uses steam in a dedicated cycle to help clean everyday items like shirts and towels.
- LG ThinQ App Connectivity: Lets you manage cycles remotely for added convenience.
- 1200 RPM Spin Speed: Helps remove more water at the end of the wash to reduce drying time.
- 4.5 Star Energy Rating: Uses an estimated 225 kWh per year, helping keep energy use relatively low for this size class.
- 4 Star WELS Water Rating: Uses 82 L per wash cycle, giving it solid water efficiency for everyday household use.
- Drum Light: Makes it easier to see inside the washer when loading and unloading.
Q: Can this LG slim washer be stacked with a dryer
A: No. WX3-1208W is not stacking kit compatible, so it is not the right choice for a washer and dryer tower. It suits side-by-side placement or tighter laundries where cabinet depth matters more than vertical stacking.
Q: Does this washer use both hot and cold water inlets
A: Yes. This model has hot and cold water connections, which suits homes already set up for both inlets. It is designed around that plumbing layout rather than a cold-only connection, so check your laundry taps before ordering.
Q: Is the Quick 14 cycle useful for small daily loads
A: Yes. The Quick 14 program suits lightly soiled, smaller loads when speed matters more than a deep wash. For heavier fabrics, larger mixed loads or items needing more thorough treatment, a full wash program is the better fit.
Q: Does the LG ThinQ app let you start cycles remotely
A: Yes. LG WX3-1208W supports Wi-Fi, Remote Start and the LG ThinQ app, so you can manage cycles from your phone after setup. App control adds convenience, but it does not replace loading the washer, adding detergent or unloading clothes.
Q: Will clothes come out fairly dry after the spin cycle
A: Yes. WX3-1208W spins at 1200 RPM, which can leave everyday items noticeably drier at the end of the wash. It still will not remove as much water as higher-spin front loaders, so thick towels and bedding may take longer to dry.
Q: What is the Microplastic Care program for on this washer
A: Microplastic Care is a dedicated cycle for synthetic garments, where fibre shedding during washing can be a concern. It is a specialised program rather than an all-purpose everyday setting, so cottons, wool and mixed loads are better on their matched cycles.
