Fabulous kettle!
Three weeks ago, after many hours of research, I bought this Breville Soft Open Stainless Steel Kettle. As a declared tea-aholic, I'm delighted to report that it is performing brilliantly with the thrashing it gets from my daily use. Apart from being an elegant looking kettle, it's very easy to use, not too heavy and much faster than my previous Sunbeam glass one. I find the soft opening lid perfectly OK - it opens quickly enough for me, regardless of others' comments. I like its various features: the orange "on" light, the beep at the end of the boil, the wide lid opening, the very comfortable handle (especially for arthritic hands), the removable filter and excess cord storage underneath the base unit. The one criticism I do agree with is that the water level is difficult to see through the fairly dark, tinted dual windows, but this isn't a problem for me as I count seven seconds to get just the right quantity of water to fill my mug! All in all, I thoroughly recommend this product. :-))
