Good product, poor installation service
I tried to order by phone but could not get through to a live person and had to work out how to order on line, which left my queries unanswered, at 84 I am not very good at online. I am happy with the washing machine, but I paid for installation and that service was poor. The outlet hose did not reach the trough from where the previous machine sat, and they merely suggested that I go to Bunnings to buy an extension. The water hoses were attached, but left very twisted, and the machine left out in an awkward spot. They did not test it to check any function, even to test water did not leak, and I was not given any instruction on using the machine.

Fantastic Upgrade
We chose the LG 7.5kg top loading washing machine mainly because we love the brand and it was on budget. And we love it! Great range of wash programmes and it washes beautifully, from heavy workwear to delicate garments.

At a glance
The LG WTG7520 is a 7.5kg top load washer suited to households of two to four people needing a reliable machine for everyday clothes, towels and bedding. Its no-agitator design gives more usable drum space and gentler fabric care, while TurboDrum and Smart Inverter Control support solid cleaning performance. A fair limitation is that its 3 star energy and 3 star WELS ratings are modest beside more efficient premium models.

Things to consider
This model is better suited to everyday washing than high-capacity or high-efficiency needs, with 3 star energy, 3 star WELS and a 7.5kg capacity that may feel limiting for larger families or heavier blanket loads.
Large family suitability
Best for small to medium households; less ideal for large families with frequent oversized loads
Quick wash performance score
7/10 - useful for lightly soiled items and faster turnarounds, but not a standout specialist quick-wash model
Laundry space fit
Good fit for standard home laundries where a top-opening washer suits the layout
Water efficiency vs category
5/10 - 3 star WELS and 110L per wash are adequate, but not especially water-efficient for the category
Key benefits
- 7.5kg Capacity: Well suited to regular laundry loads for households of two to four people.
- No-Agitator Drum Design: Creates more usable wash space and is gentler on fabrics than traditional agitator-style tubs.
- TurboDrum: Rotates the drum and water flow in opposite directions to improve wash action and cleaning performance.
- Smart Inverter Control: Manages motor speed for steadier operation with reduced vibration during cycles.
- Eight Wash Programs: Gives flexibility for everyday loads, eco-focused cycles, woollens and faster washes.
- Wide Glass Lid: Makes loading easier and lets you check on the wash cycle without opening the machine.
- Quick Wash Program: Handy for lightly soiled clothes when you need a faster turnaround.
- Water Use: Rated 3 star WELS with 110L per wash cycle, giving clear expectations for ongoing water consumption.
Q: Can this washer handle blankets without an agitator getting in the way?
A: Yes. The no-agitator design gives the drum more usable space, so it is suitable for mixed loads and lighter blankets. For heavier or bulkier bedding, a larger-capacity washer is usually the better fit.
Q: Does the LG WTG7520 run quietly in a small laundry?
A: LG WTG7520 uses Smart Inverter Control to manage motor speed for steadier operation and reduced vibration. It should suit a standard indoor laundry, but a top loader will still make normal fill and spin noise during a cycle.
Q: Which cycle should I use for stubborn stains on everyday clothes?
A: Use the Pre Wash+Cotton cycle. It adds extra soaking and agitation time before the main wash, which is useful for everyday stains on regular fabrics. It is less suitable for delicate items that need gentler treatment.
Q: Will clothes tangle less in this no-agitator top loader?
A: Yes. The no-agitator design is gentler on fabrics and leaves more open drum space than a traditional agitator layout. Long items can still twist together in any top loader, especially if the load is uneven or oversized.
Q: Is the Quick Wash setting suitable for a full weekly load?
A: No. Quick Wash is better for smaller, lightly soiled loads that need a faster turnaround. For towels, bedding or a normal weekly wash, a longer program such as Cotton or Eco Cotton is the more suitable choice.
Q: How efficient is this washer for running costs over time?
A: LG WTG7520 has a 3 star energy rating. That places it in the middle of the category rather than among the more efficient options, so buyers focused on lower running costs may prefer a higher-star 7.5kg washer.
