⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent washing machine and completely stress-free experience
I recently purchased the LG 12kg washing machine from The Good Guys and couldn’t be happier with both the machine and the overall experience. The price was very competitive, and I also opted for the Premium Gold Service, which made the whole process incredibly easy. The washing machine was delivered and professionally installed the very next day, and they also took away our old machine and rubbish which was a huge bonus. The machine itself has been fantastic. The 12kg capacity is perfect for a family, giving us plenty of room to wash larger loads without having to constantly run the machine. It means fewer frequent washes and, importantly, no more having to make trips to the laundromat when we have a large amount of washing! The washing performance has also been excellent so far. It feels like a significant upgrade, and having the larger capacity has made everyday laundry much easier. Overall, great value, excellent service and a fantastic washing machine. The quick delivery, installation and removal of the old machine made the entire experience genuinely stress-free. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend The Good Guys and this LG washing machine.

Very disapointed
We purchased this machine as it was recommended by choice magazine. My son is a concreter and his work clothes require a heavy duty wash but we also require general and delicate washes. I believed that the preselected washes would be suitable for such washes but the water is too hot and the steam causes too much creasing in clothes that don't normally crease or require ironing. We are very disappointed. I will be calling to arrange someone to come out and help me choose the best settings to help this problem if possible.

At a glance
This 12kg LG Series 9 front load washer is a premium option for larger families, frequent washing and bulky loads like bedding or towels. Its strengths are generous capacity, AI Wash support, steam hygiene programs and smart app control. A key limitation is that smaller homes or couples may find the 12kg drum larger than they really need.

Key benefits
- 12kg Capacity: Handles large weekly loads and bulky items like towels, sheets and bedding with fewer wash cycles.
- TurboClean39: Washes loads up to 5kg in 39 minutes, making it useful for quick turnaround during the week.
- AI Wash: Adjusts washing performance for more tailored fabric care across mixed household loads.
- Allergy Care with Steam+: Adds a steam-based hygiene option suited to households wanting deeper care for clothes and linens.
- Wi-Fi with LG ThinQ: Lets you monitor and control the washer remotely through compatible smart home setup.
- 1400rpm Spin Speed: Helps remove more water at the end of the cycle to reduce drying time.
- 5 Star Energy Rating: Supports lower running costs with a 5 star rating and estimated annual energy use of 304kWh.
- 5 Star WELS Water Rating: Uses 86L per wash cycle under the WELS test program, supporting strong water efficiency for its size.
Q: Does this washer need both hot and cold water taps?
A: Yes. LG WX9-1412W uses a hot and cold water connection, so it is designed for laundries with both taps available. If your laundry is set up differently, discuss the connection requirements with your plumber before ordering.
Q: Can TurboClean39 handle a full 12kg family wash load?
A: No. TurboClean39 is for loads up to 5kg and is better suited to smaller mid-week washes. For a larger family load, use one of the standard programs instead, because the quick cycle is not intended for the washer's full 12kg capacity.
Q: Is detergent measured automatically on the LG WX9-1412W?
A: No. LG WX9-1412W does not have auto dosing, so detergent needs to be added manually each wash. That gives more control over the amount used, but it is less hands-off than a washer that stores and dispenses detergent for you.
Q: Will steam cycles crease clothes more than standard washes?
A: Steam+ and Baby Steam Care are better suited to loads where a steam option is the priority, not every fabric. If creasing matters, use the garment care label as the guide and choose Delicates, Easy Care or another non-steam program instead.
Q: What dryer matches the LG 12kg Series 9 washer?
A: The matching dryers listed for LG WX9-1412W are LG DHX9-09W and DHX9-10W. That makes it easier to shop for a paired set, but stacking suitability and any kit requirements still need to match your laundry layout.
Q: Is this washer suitable for doonas, towels and bedding?
A: Yes. LG WX9-1412W has a 12kg wash capacity and includes Bed Sheets, Duvet and Towels programs, so it suits bulky household laundry. Check the care label and wash one item at a time if a bulky piece fills most of the drum.
