first time user of Elux 600 vacuum
It's quiet and meet my expectation. If it's 4 wheels instead of 2 wheels, the mobility will be much improved. The elastic pipe material is not soft enough which hinder the changing direction when cleaning the corner area or a small room. If it is a battery based machine and could be put on like a backpack, it will surely increase the mobility and flexibility in cleaning all directions and areas. The heads for cleaning carpet is not smooth and too thick to go to the corners.

Performs well
I bought this vacuum as I required a suction head style vacuum for my new nylon loop pile carpet. I needed a vacuum that didn’t have harsh bristles that would “fluff” the loops over time. The bristles on this vacuum head aren’t harsh when in carpet mode and so far this vacuum has worked well for me. Lightweight to carry.

Good vacuum cleaner
I like that the vacuum cleaner has bags. I found bags work better for me. If I am honest, I found it a little clunky and heavy to pull around. The vacuum cleaner tube extension feels flimsy and I worry that it might break easily. Another feature missing is the option to simply flick a switch with your foot to change from carpet to tiles. Besides that, for an average price, it works fine.

At a glance
The Electrolux 600 Series Bagged Vacuum is a mid-range barrel vacuum built for homes with a mix of hard floors, carpets and upholstery. Its strengths are the 12 m cleaning reach, bagged dust handling, HEPA 12 washable filtration and quieter nozzle design. It suits households wanting cleaner emptying and easy manoeuvrability, though it is less ideal if you prefer a bagless model or specialist deep-carpet performance.
What it’s great for
- Whole-home cleaning
- Mixed floor cleaning
- Upholstery cleaning
- Lower-dust emptying
- Everyday household vacuuming
Where it works best
- Apartments
- Family homes
- Multi-room homes
- Mixed-surface living areas
Who it’s for
- Families
- Allergy-conscious households
- Everyday home users
- Mixed-floor households
Things to consider
The bagged design helps with cleaner dust disposal, but ongoing bag replacement may be less convenient than bagless models and it is not presented as a specialist pet-hair or deep-carpet vacuum.
Pet hair performance score
6/10 - Suitable for general pet hair pickup on floors and upholstery, but it is not described as a dedicated pet model.
Large home suitability
8/10 - The 12 m cleaning reach helps cover larger areas and multiple rooms with fewer power point changes.
Carpet vs hard floor fit
Well suited to mixed homes with both carpets and hard floors, plus occasional upholstery cleaning.
Noise level rating
7/10 - The DustMagnet Silent nozzle is designed to reduce noise during normal cleaning.
Portability rating
7/10 - Easy roll wheels support good manoeuvrability, though a barrel vacuum is still less compact than smaller handheld options.
Key benefits
- 12 m cleaning reach: Lets you clean across multiple rooms from one power point with fewer stops to unplug and move.
- Bagged dust system: Helps contain dust during disposal for a tidier, lower-contact emptying process.
- HEPA 12 washable filtration: Captures micro dust particles to support cleaner air during vacuuming.
- DustMagnet Silent nozzle: Designed for quieter operation, making routine cleaning less disruptive.
- All-floor cleaning design: Suits hard floors, carpets and upholstery for flexible everyday use around the home.
- Easy roll wheels: Improve manoeuvrability when moving between rooms and across different floor types.
- Full foot control: Lets you adjust power and rewind the cord without bending down.
- Upholstery capability: Makes it easier to clean sofas, chairs and other fabric surfaces in addition to floors.
Q: Does a bagged vacuum like this cost more to run over time?
A: Yes. Electrolux EFB61112 uses replaceable dust bags, so there is an ongoing consumable cost that a bagless model does not have. The trade-off is tidier disposal, because the bagged system helps keep dust contained when you remove it.
Q: Is this vacuum a good choice for pet hair pickup?
A: Yes, for general household pet hair. Electrolux EFB61112 can clean carpet, hard floors and upholstery, but no dedicated pet tool is specified. If pet hair is the main job, a pet-focused model may suit heavy shedding better.
Q: Can it cover several rooms without changing power points often?
A: Yes. Electrolux EFB61112 has a 12 metre cleaning reach, which suits apartments and multi-room homes where you want fewer plug changes. It is still a barrel vacuum, so you are pulling the unit and hose with you as you move.
Q: Does it have a foot switch to change between carpet and hard floors?
A: No. Electrolux EFB61112 gives foot control for power settings and cord rewind, not a floor-type change switch on the barrel. It is built for mixed surfaces, but changing how the floorhead cleans is separate from those foot controls.
Q: Is the Electrolux 600 bagged vacuum quiet enough for apartment cleaning?
A: Yes. Electrolux EFB61112 uses a DustMagnet Silent nozzle that is designed for quieter operation during routine cleaning. It should be less intrusive than many standard floorheads, but it is not described as silent overall.
Q: Is the filter washable, or do you need to replace it?
A: Electrolux EFB61112 has a washable HEPA 12 filter, so it is designed to be cleaned and reused rather than treated as a one-use filter. That can reduce routine maintenance cost, but the vacuum still needs replacement dust bags over time.
