Amazing for carpet and getting rid of dog hair
I have carpet in almost every room of my rental and getting rid of all the hair from my Labrador has always been an issue. This vacuum has been amazing! Gets right into the carpet and gets all the hair with no issues. Way better than my old rechargable stick vacuum. If you have a pet and thick carpet cannot recommend highly enough!

I have come back to Miele . . .
I had a Miele for about 16 years. It was heavy, but brilliant. After being seduced by the Dyson stick vacuums (and the reviews), I convinced myself this is what I needed: no more pulling around a barrel vacuum for me, and no more bags. Alas, the expensive Dyson was always wanting the filters cleaned (such a pain), and if it was on the boost setting would last about 15 min max. There weas always aome light flashing and I could rarely just turn it on and vacuum. It completely stopped working after 1about 20 months. So, I've come home to Miele, and the Guard L1 Cat and Dog Bagged Vacuum (bagged) is superb. The Cat and Dog title just means it comes with an additional power head (not just a head for tiles etc). It's lighter than my previous Miele; has superb suction (so much better than the Dyson); is quieter; and has attachments that actually fit. Winning! I love that this Miele has a built-in small attachment in the handle, so when you take off the long piece, you pull down the small brush. There's also another small attachment (which I haven't used yet) located near the button panel. I also love that I can now vacuum behind cupboards and bookcases etc. The 'stick' of the aforementioned stick vacuum is too thick for this sort of thing. I used to think the vacuums bags were a bother, but emptying a 'bagless' vacuum can be messy. I bought a large box of bags (which also come with the additional rectangular filters). I hope this helps you with your research if you're tossing up between these two types of vacuums. I am a Miele vacuum fan and will not stray again. G

Great vacuum cleaner
Previously had a Bosch vacuum and the Miele is an upgrade. Stronger suction, being able to change suction strength with feet and inbuilt storage for the furniture/crevice attachment are all good features. Would recommend this vacuum to others looking for a bagged vacuum cleaner.
