Looks Great
This range hood is attractive and modern. It has good lighting and suction. We have found it to be quite noisy. We might notice the noise more as it is quite close to our tv. All in all, we are happy with our purchase.

Rangehood - replacing an old one
The product is great. Its powerful and fitted into the original range hood space. The only issue we experienced is that there was no ducting pack included so we had to go and source one. That delayed completion of our installation.

Great rangehood
Great rangehood with very powerful extraction. It is a very noisy system (even on low) but I didn't take off any stars for this, as I knew it was when purchasing it and I was willing to deal with the noise for a more powerful system. I love that it comes with a set of both baffle and mesh filters. I most definitely prefer the baffle ones and keep the mesh as spare. The LED light is very bright which I also like. I do wish the noise when you press every button wasn't so loud though. I highly recommend this rangehood as it definitely gets the job done. I had The Goodguys install this for me too. Purchased on a Monday (boxing day) and it was installed on Friday. I picked the option to have my old one taken away. Also highly recommended this service. The guys were fantastic and cleaned up after themselves. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase!

At a glance
This 90cm Smeg canopy rangehood suits households wanting strong everyday extraction and a polished stainless steel look for a medium to large kitchen. Its key strengths are the 900m3/hr airflow, easy push button control, LED lighting and dishwasher-safe filters. It is a solid mid-range option for regular cooking, but it lacks the quieter operation and advanced control features found on more premium models.

Things to consider
It offers strong extraction and straightforward controls, but it does not include quieter premium-level performance, sensor automation or more advanced speed options.
Large kitchen suitability
8/10 - 90cm coverage and 900m3/hr extraction make it well suited to medium and larger kitchens.
Noise level vs category average
7/10 - up to 62 dBA is reasonable for this style, though not especially quiet versus premium low-noise models.
Odour removal performance
8/10 - strong ducted extraction and centrifugal airflow give it solid odour and steam removal for regular cooking.
Ease of cleaning
8/10 - dishwasher-safe aluminium filters and a stainless steel exterior make routine cleaning straightforward.
Key benefits
- 900m3/hr Extraction: High airflow helps clear steam, grease and cooking odours quickly during everyday stovetop cooking.
- LED Lighting: Built-in lighting improves visibility over the cooktop for safer and easier meal prep.
- 3 Fan Speeds: Multiple speed settings let you choose lighter or stronger ventilation depending on what you are cooking.
- Push Button Controls: Simple manual controls make day-to-day operation easy and familiar.
- Dishwasher-safe Aluminium Filters: Removable filters are easier to maintain and help keep performance consistent over time.
- Ducted Ventilation: Exhausting air outside helps remove cooking fumes from the kitchen instead of recirculating them.
- Stainless Steel Finish: The metal finish gives the rangehood a durable, contemporary look that suits many kitchen styles.
- Wall-Mounted Canopy Design: The wide canopy provides effective overhead coverage while creating a strong visual focal point.
Q: Is this 90cm Smeg rangehood the right width for a 90cm cooktop?
A: Yes. A 90cm rangehood is the usual match for a 90cm cooktop because the hood lines up with the cooking surface width. If you do lots of high-heat frying, a wider hood can improve smoke capture, but 90cm is the standard pairing.
Q: What does canopy design mean on this Smeg 90cm rangehood?
A: A canopy rangehood is a wall-mounted style with a visible chimney section above the hood body. It suits kitchens where the rangehood is meant to be seen, unlike an undermount model that hides inside cabinetry. Discuss with your electrician.
Q: Is the stainless steel finish a practical choice for this Smeg canopy rangehood?
A: Yes. Stainless steel pairs easily with many ovens, cooktops and splashbacks, so it is a straightforward match in mixed-appliance kitchens. It can show fingerprints, grease film and streaks more readily than darker or textured finishes.
Q: Are spare parts available for Smeg rangehoods like this model in Australia?
A: Smeg Australia states it carries a full range of spare parts and keeps parts for some popular lines for 25 years or more. That does not guarantee every part for every model, but it is a useful sign for long-term serviceability.
