The vacuum is quite loud in smaller spaces, but it performs the job effectively. One downside is the lack of brush-style attachments, which would be a useful addition. That said, it may be possible to use compatible attachments from other vacuum brands. I purchased this vacuum because we only had cordless vacuum so this is a perfect backup when the battery runs flat.
