Best steam mop I’ve owned
I have used a few steam mops but this one is amazing. I have mat tiles and they had water type marks I couldn’t get off. I used this the first time and it buffed everything off. It’s lightweight and basically self driven so no pushing heavy steam mops around. Don’t have to wait to put more water in, just have to turn off. heats up quickly too It doesn’t do the corners but it’s easy enough to just get a wet cloth and clean that yourself. I am truly impressed with this mop and it’s the cheapest one I’ve bought.

Cleans well.
The shark steam and scrub mop does a great job. Cleans the tiles and scrubs oily grease marks on the kitchen. Good size cord and once you get the hang of it, it's easy to use.

It suits busy households, pet owners and allergy-conscious homes wanting chemical-free cleaning. Key strengths are easy operation, reusable pads and strong hard-floor performance. Its main limitation is that it is designed for sealed hard floors only, not carpets.

Things to consider
It offers strong everyday hard-floor cleaning, but premium specialist cleaners may provide more advanced controls, larger water tanks or broader surface compatibility.
Pet owner suitability
High - good for paw prints, tracked dirt and chemical-free cleaning in pet households.
Allergy friendliness
8/10 - water-only cleaning and washable pads help reduce chemical exposure and everyday floor residue.
Multi-surface cleaning score
7/10 - works across several sealed hard floor types, but it is not intended for carpet or unsealed floors.
Ease of use rating
8/10 - quick 60-second heat-up, simple steam settings and reusable pads make regular cleaning straightforward.
Noise level vs category average
About average - rotating pad action may be more noticeable than basic steam mops, but typical for an active scrubbing model.
Key benefits
- Steam and rotating pads: Cleans and scrubs at the same time to reduce manual effort on sealed hard floors.
- 150 RPM scrubbing action: Rotating pads help loosen stuck-on dirt more effectively than a non-rotating steam mop.
- Chemical-free steam cleaning: Uses water only, making it a practical option for households avoiding harsh floor-cleaning chemicals.
- 99% bacteria removal: Supports sanitising on sealed hard floors without leaving chemical residue when used as directed.
- 3 steam settings: Light, Normal and Deep modes make it easier to match steam output to different mess levels.
- 60-second heat-up: Gets ready quickly for fast clean-ups and regular floor maintenance.
- Reusable machine-washable pads: Helps lower ongoing consumable costs and keeps spare pads ready for the next clean.
- Sealed hard floor compatibility: Suitable for tile, marble, sealed hardwood and stone for versatile use around the home.
Q: Is the Shark S7001 suitable for timber floors and other delicate hard surfaces?
A: Yes, if the surface is sealed. The S7001 is designed for sealed tile, marble, hardwood and stone, but steam should not be used on unsealed, waxed or water-sensitive floors because moisture and heat can affect the finish.
Q: How much floor cleaning can the Shark S7001 do before it needs a refill?
A: With its 350mL water tank, a typical clean is around 15 to 20 minutes depending on the steam setting and how often the trigger is used. Deep mode uses more steam, so larger homes may need a refill partway through cleaning.
Q: Can the Shark S7001 leave water marks on some floors?
A: Yes, it can if the steam level is higher than the floor needs or if the pads are overly damp. On smooth tiles or lightly soiled floors, Light or Normal mode is usually the better choice for a quicker dry time and fewer marks.
Q: Does the rotating pad design make the Shark S7001 easier to push than a standard steam mop?
A: Yes, the dual pads rotate at 150 times per minute, which helps the mop glide and reduces the need to scrub by hand. At 3.1kg it is not ultra-light, but the rotating action does much of the effort for everyday hard floor cleaning.
Q: Are extra pads likely to be needed often with the Shark S7001?
A: Not for most households, because 4 reusable pads are included in the box and they are machine washable and quick drying. That gives two pairs to rotate, which is useful if one set is in the wash or used for heavier messes.
Q: Is the Shark S7001 practical for larger rooms or open-plan areas?
A: Yes, the 8m cord gives it better reach than many compact steam mops, so fewer power point changes are needed in bigger spaces. It is still a corded model, so cleaning around furniture will feel different from using a cordless floor cleaner.
