Lg 42L 1200W NeoChef Smart Inverter Microwave
I am pleased with the microwave and it took awhile to get accustomed to its operation. The unit is "very light in weight", which is disadvantage as I had to apply double sided tape to the feet, as the two rear feet were just pressed metal with no holding power, the front two feet were of plastic. After fitting the tape the microwave stayed on the bench as to open the door it requires a bit of a "tug". The other disadvantage of not having a "keypad time set" is that it has no 1 to 10 seconds selection, only 10 seconds increments even with the "slider control". It is easy to clean, cooks well and is faster than our old 800Watt with a larger interior which is great. I still recommend this microwave and hopefully it will serve me well for 10 + years. Lastly, I would love LG to have ALL 4 feet installed with rubber feet to hold it down to the bench.

Did they go backwards?
The LG NeoChef smart inverter is a great piece of technology in the microwave. You have absolutely no issue heating, defrosting or just simply "nuking" anything you put in there. I had an LG Neo chef microwave for the past 8 years and it finally gave in so I purchased another one, though I have found some small improvements with the design such as the buttons and the removal of the physical seconds dial replaced with a touch slider, there are some components that just feel cheaper. The door doesn't close as soft, when the microwave is running, there's more vibration sounds coming through the walls and the door. It seems that with time LG has found a way to decrease production costs so it no longer feels as premium but the same cooking experience is there.
