Most metal kettles are loud as they warm and reach boiling point. Not the Philips. The double skin design seems to muffle the sound and reduce disturbance. In addition, the kettle is fast at heating. But the best reason to buy this kettle is that no plastic part is in contact with the water. This minimises the risk of micro-plastic contamination, from which most other kettles suffer. Great design, Philips.

So far so good, happy with the kettle
I need a simple kettle with stainless steel inner container to avoid any possible risk with plastic parts. This kettle does have that feature, which also minimizes the risk of leaking since there is no steel and plastic part junctions. Furthermore, its dual wall does help keep the water hot longer. Last but not least, it does look nice and is reasonably priced. Postage by The Good Guys was fast.
