At a glance
The Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light is a compact USB-powered lamp for bedside tables, nurseries and other small spaces needing a soft glow. It suits parents, children and anyone wanting gentle nighttime lighting with adjustable brightness and three colour ranges. Its mini size, simple setup and low-wattage design are practical strengths. The main limitation is that it is better for close-range ambient light than lighting a larger room.

Where it works best

Who it’s for

Things to consider
This light is designed for soft, close-range illumination, so it is less suitable than larger or higher-output night lights for lighting bigger rooms or wider pathways.
Child suitability
Well suited for children's bedrooms and nurseries thanks to its soft glow, compact size and comforting moon design.
Energy efficiency score
8/10 - low-wattage LED design suited to gentle overnight lighting.
Portability rating
6/10 - compact and easy to move, but it needs USB power and is not battery operated.
Brightness vs category average
6/10 - softer and more ambient than many brighter plug-in night lights, making it better for close-range use.
Ease of use score
8/10 - simple USB setup with straightforward brightness and colour adjustment.
Key benefits
- 10 brightness levels: lets you fine-tune the glow for bedtime comfort, feeding times or subtle overnight guidance.
- 3 colour ranges: gives you warm white, daylight white and white options to better match different moods and room uses.
- Moon-inspired design: adds a comforting, child-friendly look that suits nurseries and bedside spaces.
- Mini form factor: fits neatly on a bedside table, nursery shelf or other compact area without taking much space.
- USB power: makes it easy to place near common USB power sources without relying on replaceable batteries.
- 1.7 m cable: provides extra placement flexibility compared with shorter-cable bedside lights.
- Low-wattage design: supports gentle, close-range lighting for overnight use without the harshness of brighter room lights.
- 1 year manufacturer's warranty: adds peace of mind for everyday household use.
Q: Is this night light bright enough to light a whole room?
A: No. Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light is designed for gentle, close-range lighting rather than broad room illumination. Its mini size and low wattage suit a bedside table, nursery shelf or hallway spot, not full-room lighting.
Q: Does the Crest moon night light run on batteries?
A: No. Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light uses USB power, so it needs a continuous power source rather than batteries. The 1.7 metre cable gives some placement flexibility, but it is not a cordless light.
Q: Can I change both colour and brightness for bedtime use?
A: Yes. Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light has 3 colour ranges and 10 brightness levels, so you can set a softer or clearer glow to suit the space. It is still intended for background lighting rather than replacing a bedside lamp.
Q: Does this moon light have an auto sensor or timer?
A: No. Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light is a USB-powered manual light with adjustable brightness and colour settings, not an automatic sensor or timer-based model. It suits steady bedside or nursery use where you want the setting left as chosen.
Q: Where can I place it if power is not nearby?
A: Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light includes a 1.7 metre USB cable, which helps with placement on a bedside table, shelf or small hallway surface. It still needs USB power, so it cannot be placed beyond that cable reach without another power solution.
Q: Is this mini moon light suitable for a nursery shelf?
A: Yes. Crest Mini Changing Moon Night Light is designed for small spaces and gentle close-range lighting, which suits a nursery shelf or bedside spot. Because it is USB powered, placement needs to stay within cable reach and away from where a cord could be pulled.
