Run an empty cycle on the largest load setting with hot water and replace the detergent with two cups of white vinegar. This will kill bacterial growth and act as a deodorizer for any unpleasant smells that may have built up. Once this cycle has finished, spray and wipe the drum and the outside of your washing machine with a damp cloth and vinegar. Make sure to clean the rubber seal as well as the detergent dispenser.
