Not what was expected
The product we purchased, a SMEG 900mm 'pull out' range hood replaced the same or similar range hood we purchased and installed in our kitchen circ 2003. The replacement is cheap and nasty. We bought SMEG original for the quality and performance. the fan was a tangential type that gave excellent exhaust performance in an open kitchen. We opted for a replacement SMEG for quality and that the original SMEG had reached its useful life, lights needed replacing and likely renovation cost would exceed the new cost. The replacement has a standard circular fan with what appears to have a lower air change performance. The switches are cheap plastic with very basic operations. The fan speed switch is difficult to find, its under the soffit of the pullout and caution required if changing speed when changing speed with the stove top gas flame in use. Over the near 20 years, the product has changed which was difficult to see on the photo on the website, but it did fit albeit requiring now some additional cabinetry. Overall disappointed with the product although this is not a criticism of Good Gyes other than the product was only available online. Buying online is a risk but buyer beware. I am not sure this purchase was value for money considering the quality of the original product.

Value vs money
Rangehood are inherently noisy and I expected for the price that it might have been quieter. Also made the mistake of venting through the roof. The vane flaps noisily on a windy day. Build quality is good and lighting is great. If you want quiet be prepared for a hefty price tag.
