Updated from a QLED Samsung to this OLED. Wasn’t sure if the hype surrounding OLED’s was true, but have to say there is a big improvement.

Extra large room suitability
Excellent - the 77 inch screen and recommended viewing distance of 230 cm make it well suited to larger rooms and spacious viewing areas.

9/10 - OLED contrast, a 77 inch screen, Dolby Atmos support, and HDR10+ make it highly capable for immersive movie nights.

9/10 - Tizen Smart TV, voice assistant support, SmartThings integration, AirPlay 2, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 deliver a well-rounded smart experience.

Key benefits
- OLED panel: Self-lighting pixels deliver deeper blacks and more cinematic contrast for movies and night-time viewing.
- 77 inch screen: The extra-large display creates a more immersive experience for films, sport, and big-screen gaming.
- 120Hz refresh rate: Fast action looks smoother and more responsive for gaming and live sport.
- NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor: Lower-resolution content is upscaled to look sharper and cleaner on the large screen.
- HDR10+ support: Scenes can show more visible contrast and detail in bright highlights and darker areas.
- AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility: Gameplay stays smoother with reduced screen tearing during fast motion.
- Tizen Smart TV with Alexa, Google Assistant compatibility, Bixby, SmartThings, and Apple AirPlay 2: It is easy to stream, control smart devices, and access popular connected features from one screen.
- 6 star energy rating: Offers strong energy performance for its class, with estimated annual energy consumption of 503 kWh.
Q: Can this 77 inch Samsung OLED be wall mounted?
A: Yes. Samsung QA77S85HAEXXY supports a 400 x 300mm VESA wall mount pattern. A wall bracket is not included, so you will need a compatible mount sized for a 77 inch TV and the wall clearance your room needs.
Q: Will the built in sound suit movies without a soundbar?
A: Yes, for everyday viewing. Samsung QA77S85HAEXXY has 20W 2 channel speakers with Dolby Atmos support, but a separate soundbar can add more scale and bass in a large room, especially for action films and cinematic soundtracks.
Q: Does this TV suit console gaming and PC gaming too?
A: Yes. Samsung QA77S85HAEXXY combines a 120Hz panel with AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility for smoother motion. It is well suited to current consoles and gaming PCs that can take advantage of those features.
Q: Is this OLED best for darker rooms or bright living areas?
A: This OLED suits both, but its strongest picture trait is deep black levels that stand out most in dimmer viewing. In a very bright room, screen reflections and OLED brightness limits can matter more than they do on some higher-tier TVs.
Q: Which smart home and casting options does this TV support?
A: Samsung QA77S85HAEXXY runs Tizen and supports hands-free Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant compatibility, SmartThings, Bixby and Apple AirPlay 2. That covers voice control and easy casting from compatible Apple and smart-home devices.
Q: Can you record free to air TV on this model?
A: Yes. Samsung QA77S85HAEXXY includes Extended PVR, which is designed for recording broadcast TV when a compatible USB storage device is connected. It is a TV recording feature, not a way to download shows from streaming apps.
