Wish I'd bought it years ago
During the cooler months we unfortunately suffer from window condensation in our bedrooms and bathrooms. I used to wipe them dry using multiple cloths but the next morning you could see the streaking wipe marks, plus I was making more washing for myself with all these cloths. This Karcher Window Vac quickly removes the moisture and it's pretty much streak free. The catcher bottle is easy to drain and it's crazy to see how quickly it fills! The charging dock makes it convenient as the vac is always charged ready to use, I've not yet needed to use the second battery.

Great product!
I was looking for a window cleaner that was easy to use as I have many windows in my house. This product is amazing and was so simple to use. It used to take me so long to clean my windows especially the sliding doors. No streaks left after using it. Superb and highly recommend!

Good to have
Not so happy with product, if u aligned one side, fluid start dripping down and if you use concentrated glass cleaner, foam will dripping down , due air suction makes bubbles.

Sparkling Windows with Zero Effort!
I grabbed the Karcher WV5 N from The Good Guys recently, and I’m genuinely impressed. I used to dread cleaning the windows because of the constant streaks and soggy paper towels, but this little gadget makes it so much faster. It’s lightweight and easy to handle, sucking up the water instantly without leaving any mess behind. I’ve even started using it on the shower screen and mirrors too. It’s one of those rare tools that actually does exactly what it promises—highly recommend if you want to save yourself some serious elbow grease!

At a glance
The Karcher WV5 N is a purpose-built handheld window vacuum for homes with lots of glass, mirrors and tiled surfaces. It suits users who want faster, tidier cleaning of shower screens, windows and glass tables, with a lightweight build and up to 35 minutes of cordless runtime. Its key strength is streak-free moisture pickup, but it is more specialised than a general handheld vacuum for broader dry debris cleaning.

- Shower screen cleaning
- Mirror cleaning
- Glass table cleaning
- Tile moisture removal
- Multi-surface smooth surface cleaning

- People cleaning multiple glass surfaces
Things to consider
This model is designed for wet pickup on smooth surfaces, so it is less versatile than premium handheld vacuums made for broader dry debris, upholstery or car interior cleaning.
Pet hair performance score
1/10 - not designed for pet hair pickup and is specialised for wet cleaning on smooth surfaces.
Car cleaning suitability
Limited - better suited to windows and other smooth household surfaces than general car interior cleaning.
Portability rating
9/10 - lightweight cordless design makes it easy to carry and use around the home.
Battery endurance rating
8/10 - up to 35 minutes per charge is strong for dedicated window cleaning tasks, with a second battery included for longer use.
Ease of emptying
8/10 - bagless design helps make emptying and cleanup straightforward.
Key benefits
- Streak-free window cleaning: Lifts water and dirt from smooth surfaces to help leave windows, mirrors and tiles cleaner with less manual wiping.
- Lightweight handheld design: Easier to manoeuvre around shower screens, mirrors and glass tables during longer cleaning sessions.
- Exchangeable battery system: Lets you swap batteries for longer cleaning sessions with less interruption.
- Up to 35-minute runtime: Supports cleaning several windows or mirrors in one charge.
- 3-hour charging time: Recharges relatively quickly between cleaning sessions.
- Nozzle with built-in spacers: Cleans closer to edges and helps reduce drips around frames and corners.
- Spray bottle and microfibre cloth included: Gives you a simple wash, wipe and vacuum workflow straight out of the box.
- Bagless hygienic design: Simplifies cleanup without needing replacement bags.
Q: Can this Karcher WV5 N replace a regular handheld vacuum?
A: No. Karcher WV5 N is built to vacuum dirty water from smooth surfaces such as glass, mirrors and tiles. It is not designed for dry debris, carpets, upholstery or pet hair, so it works best as a specialist cleaner.
Q: Is it suitable for clearing window condensation each morning?
A: Yes. The Karcher WV5 N can remove moisture from smooth glass, which makes it useful for bedroom or bathroom window condensation. It is designed to lift water rather than scrub heavy grime, so dirty glass still needs a wash first.
Q: Does the WV5 N include a spare battery in the box?
A: Yes. The Karcher WV5 N includes an enclosed second battery, plus a charger and base station. That suits longer cleaning sessions because one battery can charge while the other is in use, instead of stopping when a single pack runs flat.
Q: Will it clean right into the corners of shower screens?
A: It can clean closer to edges than a flat nozzle alone because the suction head has built-in spacers. Very tight corners and framed edges may still need a cloth first, but it is designed to reduce drips along smooth glass.
Q: Can it be used on textured or rough bathroom tiles?
A: No. This model is intended for smooth surfaces, including tiles with a smooth finish, mirrors and glass. On textured, rough or uneven tiles, the nozzle may not seal evenly, so water pickup and the final finish can be less consistent.
Q: How long does a full charge take before cleaning?
A: A full charge takes up to 3 hours. Once charged, the lithium-ion battery runs for up to 35 minutes per charge, which suits several windows or mirrors in one session before swapping batteries or placing it back on charge.
