Light, Flexible, with great suction
Bought this for my wife, but I think I use it more than she does. It charges really quickly, which is good as the charge only lasts about one and a half car interiors. The suction is great, which is what you need from a vaccuum, and being light weight, it is easy to take out to the car and zip around the hard to reach corners etc. With no cords to get tired up in it is the ideal product for cleaning inside the caravan, even if the house batteries are flatr. Great product, at a great price

Doesn’t disappoint
Really happy with this purchase. While smaller than I expected it really is a great size and does an excellent job cleaning the car, including sand from the dog on the beach and is great for small clean ups around the house. Only one speed and while it is definitely loud it’s well worth it given the good suction. It also lasts a lot longer than I expected when fully charged. Would definitely recommend.

Black and Decker flexi handheld vacuum
Nice compact size and lightweight vacuum. Super suction power so picks up all dust and dirt very well. Easy to charge and portable so can carry it easily and in tight spots like the car.

Works well. You have to charge for 4-5hours to get about 15minutes working time. It’s abit loud but over all my 4 yr old loves to now help around the house.

At a glance
This cordless handheld vacuum is a practical choice for quick clean-ups in homes, cars and other tight spaces. It suits buyers who want strong flexibility, light weight and easy emptying without a full-sized vacuum. The hose, crevice tool and 2 in 1 nozzle help reach awkward spots. Its main limitation is the short 15-minute runtime, so it is better for targeted jobs than whole-room cleaning.

Things to consider
With up to 15 minutes of runtime, it is best for short, targeted cleaning rather than extended sessions or heavier-duty whole-carpet cleaning.
Pet hair performance score
6/10 - useful for light pet hair pick-up on upholstery and in cars, but not a specialist pet-focused handheld.
Car cleaning suitability
Very good for car interiors thanks to the flexible hose, crevice tool and cordless design.
Portability rating
9/10 - lightweight 1.4kg design and cordless operation make it easy to carry and use in tight areas.
Battery endurance rating
5/10 - up to 15 minutes per charge suits quick tasks, but runtime is limited for larger cleaning sessions.
Ease of emptying
Easy - bagless design with quick emptying helps reduce mess after small clean-up jobs.
Key benefits
- 18V lithium-ion battery: Delivers cordless cleaning power with up to 15 minutes of runtime for quick jobs around the home or car.
- 1.5m flexible hose: Helps you reach under furniture, into corners and between car seats more easily than rigid handheld designs.
- 25W suction power: Provides suitable pickup for dust, crumbs and everyday debris on multiple surfaces.
- Lightweight 1.4kg body: Easier to carry, lift and use one-handed for fast clean-ups.
- Bagless dust collection: Makes bin emptying simpler and avoids the ongoing cost of replacement vacuum bags.
- 4-hour recharge time: Gets the vacuum ready again within a half-day window, making it practical for regular touch-up cleaning.
- Long crevice tool: Reaches narrow gaps such as window tracks, sofa edges and hard-to-access car interior spaces.
- Docking station with accessory storage: Keeps attachments organised and the vacuum stored neatly between uses.
Q: Is this handheld vacuum enough for a full car clean?
A: For many cars, yes, if the clean is light to moderate. BLACK & DECKER PD1820L runs for 15 minutes per charge, so it suits seats, footwells and quick detail work better than a long, deep clean of a very dirty car in one session.
Q: How well does it pick up pet hair on furniture?
A: It can handle light pet hair on fabric and car seats, especially with the brush attachment. BLACK & DECKER PD1820L is not positioned as a pet-specific model, so thick embedded fur may need slower passes or a larger vacuum.
Q: Will the hose reach under seats and into tight corners?
A: Yes. The flexible hose is 1.5m long, and the included crevice tool helps reach between car seats, under furniture and into window tracks. It is designed for awkward spots that are harder to access with a rigid handheld body alone.
Q: Does the suction stay consistent as the battery runs down?
A: Yes. BLACK & DECKER PD1820L uses an 18V lithium-ion battery described for fade-free power through the runtime. That helps it stay more consistent for short cleaning jobs, rather than feeling strongest only in the first few minutes.
Q: Can this replace a full-size vacuum for everyday floor cleaning?
A: No. BLACK & DECKER PD1820L is better for spot cleaning than routine whole-room vacuuming. Its handheld format and 15-minute runtime suit crumbs, corners and car interiors, but not larger floor areas or longer cleaning sessions.
Q: What tools come with the PD1820L for detailed cleaning?
A: BLACK & DECKER PD1820L includes a long crevice tool and a 2 in 1 nozzle, and the hose helps those tools reach tighter areas. This setup is useful for edges, window tracks, upholstery and the narrow gaps found inside cars and around furniture.
