I bought this because I basically don't mop. My slovenly ways started because, surprisingly, it's very hard to get all the housework done when I work F/T, study and take care of someone with dementia. I chose this vaccuum mop because of the rechargeable batteries and because the salesperson said it wouldn't void my warranty if I used floor cleaning solutions that weren't Hoover branded (it does with Bissell). What I love about it is the low water usage, I am mopping my 4x5m kitchen and big bathroom on 1 tank of water and because the floor is dry much faster and I am done much quicker than using a mop. I needed 1 full battery to cover the area due to the filthy starting point. Things this product is not so good at- dealing with long hair. The salesman told me it should go straight up and foolishly I trusted him because he had long hair. It doesn't. I ended up needing to cut the tangled hair from the ends of the rollers because there was enough to make the motor labour. Also I ended up with an awesome hair dreadlock that had to be picked out of the innards, best to vaccuum separately first before using vaccuum mop. There's this baffle in the dirty water compartment that traps sludge so cleaning it does take a little extra effort. It's quite easy to rinse off the other bits and the cleaning cycle for the rollers is good. This product is great on lino, not as good on tiled floors with tiny tiles, like my 70s bathroom. All the grout lines stop the wiper from getting a good seal so it doesn't vaccuum up as much water. Still drier finish than a mop.
