At a glance
The Dreame X2 Cordless Vacuum is a versatile stick vacuum for whole-home cleaning across carpets, hard floors and upholstery. It suits pet owners and households dealing with long hair thanks to its hair-cutting brush and HEPA filtration. Key strengths are up to 90 minutes runtime, smart suction adjustment and strong dust visibility lighting. One limitation is its 0.5 L bin, which may need more frequent emptying in larger homes.

Things to consider
The 0.5 L dust bin is practical for regular cleaning, but it is smaller than some premium stick vacuums, so larger homes may need more frequent emptying during full-house cleans.
Pet hair performance score
9/10 - Strong fit for pet homes thanks to the TangleCut brush that cuts hair during cleaning and reduces roller wrap.
Carpet vs hard floor suitability
Well suited to both carpets and hard floors, with extra visibility benefits on hard surfaces from the illuminated floor head.
Portability rating
8/10 - Cordless design and stick format make it easy to carry and move around the home, though bin capacity is tuned more for convenience than large-volume cleaning.
Noise level vs category average
Not specified - no verified noise figure provided, so category comparison cannot be confirmed.
Allergy friendliness
8/10 - HEPA filtration and bagless dust capture support allergy-conscious cleaning, though emptying a bagless bin can still release some dust compared with sealed bagged systems.
Key benefits
- Up to 90-minute runtime: Supports longer cleaning sessions on a single charge, making it better suited to regular whole-home cleaning than shorter-runtime models.
- TangleCut Multi-Surface Brush: Dual blades cut hair as you vacuum, helping reduce hair wrap on the roller and lowering manual brush cleaning.
- HEPA filtration: Traps dust and allergens to support cleaner exhaust air for allergy-conscious households.
- Smart dirt detection: Automatically adjusts suction based on debris levels to help balance cleaning performance with battery use.
- 12-cyclone system: Helps maintain strong suction as the bin fills, reducing clogging during longer cleaning sessions.
- 140-degree Celestec illumination: Increases shadow contrast so fine dust is easier to spot on hard floors and under furniture.
- 0.5 L bagless bin: Offers simple, no-bag emptying for convenient day-to-day maintenance.
- Multi-surface cleaning: Handles carpets, hard floors and upholstery with one cordless vacuum for more flexible everyday use.
Q: Will the 0.5L bin suit a larger home with pets?
A: Yes, for regular cleaning. The Dreame X2 Cordless Vacuum has a 0.5 L bagless bin, which is practical for day-to-day whole-home use, but larger homes or heavy pet shedding may mean stopping to empty it more often mid-clean.
Q: Does the hair-cutting brush stop hair wrap completely?
A: No. The TangleCut Multi-Surface Brush is designed to reduce hair wrapping by cutting hair as it vacuums, so there is less manual roller cleaning, but it is not a guarantee that the brush will stay completely free of tangled hair.
Q: How does smart dirt detection change suction while cleaning?
A: Smart dirt detection adjusts suction automatically when the vacuum senses heavier debris, so it uses more power where floors are dirtier and backs off where less is needed. That helps balance cleaning performance with battery use during a full clean.
Q: Is the Dreame X2 better on hard floors or carpet?
A: The Dreame X2 Cordless Vacuum is built for both. Carpets benefit from strong everyday pickup and the anti-tangle brush, while hard floors get the clearest advantage from the illuminated floor head, which makes fine dust easier to spot.
Q: Can HEPA filtration make bagless emptying completely dust free?
A: No. The HEPA filtration system helps trap dust and allergens while the vacuum is running, but emptying a bagless bin can still release some dust into the air. If that matters, emptying slowly into a bin outdoors is the cleaner option.
Q: Will suction stay consistent as the dust bin fills?
A: The Dreame X2 Cordless Vacuum uses a 12-cyclone system designed to maintain stronger suction as the bin fills and reduce clogging during longer cleans. It still works best when the bin is emptied regularly rather than packed full.
Q: Does the floor light really help under furniture and edges?
A: Yes. The 140 degree Celestec illumination is designed to increase shadow contrast, so fine dust is easier to see along skirting boards, under low furniture and on hard floors. The effect is less noticeable on thicker carpet than on smooth surfaces.
