Excellent cleaner, very powerful
I have bought Dyson cleaners before, and this Dyson is also great. Very powerful on the high speed and picks up all dog hairs on the floor and carpet. Also had a great price for this cleaner at Good Guys.

Things to consider
It is lighter and more affordable than premium cordless vacuums, but its up to 40-minute runtime and 115 air watts suction are below newer high-end models built for larger homes or deeper carpet cleaning.
Pet hair performance score
8/10 - strong for routine pet hair pick-up, with de-tangling support that helps reduce hair wrap on the brush bar.
Carpet vs hard floor suitability
Best on hard floors and low-to-medium pile carpets; suitable for everyday carpet cleaning rather than heavy deep-cleaning.
Portability rating
9/10 - lightweight cordless design and one-click handheld conversion make it easy to carry around the home and into the car.
Noise level vs category average
About average for a cordless stick vacuum
Allergy friendliness
8/10 - whole-machine filtration captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, which helps reduce fine dust recirculation.
Key benefits
- 115 air watts suction: Delivers strong cordless cleaning performance for everyday dust, crumbs and debris.
- Up to 40 minutes runtime: Gives enough cordless cleaning time for quick whole-home touch-ups or detailed car cleaning.
- Motorbar cleaner head: De-tangling vanes automatically clear wrapped hair from the brush bar while you clean.
- Whole-machine filtration: Captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns for cleaner exhaust air.
- Handheld conversion: Switches from stick vacuum to handheld in one click for stairs, furniture and car interiors.
- Car Cleaning Kit included: Adds a stubborn dirt brush, mini soft dusting brush and extension hose for tighter automotive spaces.
- Hygienic bin emptying: Lets you eject dust and debris with less direct contact during disposal.
- Digital motor V8: Spins up to 107,000rpm to generate powerful suction in a lightweight cordless format.
Q: What is included in the Dyson V8 Advanced + Car Cleaning Kit, and what are those tools best for?
A: It includes the Stubborn Dirt Brush, Mini Soft Dusting Brush and Extension Hose, alongside the main vacuum setup. Those extra tools are most useful for car seats, footwells, trims and tighter spaces where the standard floor head is less practical.
Q: How long does the Dyson V8 Advanced + Car Cleaning Kit run on a charge in real use?
A: It delivers up to 40 minutes when used in powerful mode with non-motorised tools. Runtime will be shorter with motorised heads or higher suction settings, so whole-home cleaning time depends on how much carpet and deep cleaning is involved.
Q: Is the Dyson V8 Advanced + Car Cleaning Kit a good option for pet hair and long hair?
A: Yes. Its Motorbar cleaner head uses de-tangling vanes to clear wrapped hair from the brush bar as you clean, which helps on floors and rugs. For heavier shedding or larger carpeted homes, newer higher-suction Dyson models may suit better.
Q: How does this Dyson V8 Advanced model compare with the newer Dyson V8 Cyclone?
A: This model is the lighter-duty option for everyday home and car cleaning, with 115 air watts and up to 40 minutes in powerful mode with non-motorised tools. The newer V8 Cyclone is stronger at 150 air watts and runs longer, but it is a different model.
Q: Can the Dyson V8 Advanced + Car Cleaning Kit replace a full-size vacuum for the whole house?
A: For many smaller homes or quick daily cleans, yes. It is lightweight, converts to a handheld and has a wall dock, but its up to 40 minute claim is under specific conditions, so larger homes or heavier carpet cleaning may need extra passes or a more powerful model.
Q: How can I identify that this is the Dyson V8 Advanced + Car Cleaning Kit model?
A: Look for model code 626439-01. This version is the Dyson V8 Advanced bundled with the car cleaning accessories, specifically the Stubborn Dirt Brush, Mini Soft Dusting Brush and Extension Hose, which helps distinguish it from other V8 variants.
