Upgraded from the original Breville breadmaker which was a great maker. The new breadmaker has a better display and more programs. Still early days, and the 20 plus loaves I have baked have been delicious.

I have not had one bad loaf. They have all been delicious. My mandarin tree was fully loaded so I made jam. Wow! Can’t wait to experiment more.

It makes bread but it isn't the easiest instruction manual to use. Made a few loaves following the provided recipes and haven't produced a loaf I would say is as good or better than a commercial loaf from the supermarket.

I love this product. Easy to follow instructions. Canes with a lot of recipes and makes delicious bread every time. I have not tried the jam making feature yet. Also easy to clean.

Due to family dietry needs I have to make two plus loafs a week and after many years of flawless work our previous copy of this model died so we have purchased a replacement. So far it has performed exactly the same as our last one.

The Breville Custom Loaf Pro Bread Maker is a premium bread machine designed for home bakers seeking versatility and convenience. With automatic and manual programs, a collapsible kneading blade, and an automatic fruit and nut dispenser, it suits families and enthusiasts alike. Its smart LCD display and power interruption protection add ease of use. One limitation is its larger footprint, which may not suit compact kitchens.
Its larger size and advanced features may be more than needed for occasional or single-person use, and it requires more bench space than compact models.
8/10 - Intuitive controls and automatic programs make it accessible, though the range of features may require a short learning curve.
Excellent - Handles white, wholemeal, gluten-free, yeast-free, crusty loaves, dough, pasta, and jam.
Ideal for families - Multiple loaf size options suit small to large households.
7/10 - Removable paddles and stainless steel housing simplify cleaning, but some parts require hand washing.
6/10 - Moderate noise during kneading, typical for bread makers in this class.
A: Yes, it can help with sourdough by handling mixing, kneading and proofing, which saves time on labour-intensive steps. It still needs an active starter, and many bakers finish the final bake in an oven for stronger crust and shape control.
A: It can do more than bake a finished loaf. Bread makers in this range are commonly used for dough preparation for pizza, rolls or buns, then baked separately, which suits buyers who want the convenience of kneading without committing to a bread-maker crust.
A: Dense or uneven results are usually caused by ingredient balance, old yeast, or measuring by volume instead of weight. Bread makers are consistent once the recipe is dialled in, but they are less forgiving than hand baking when hydration is off.
A: Yes, Breville bread makers are generally chosen by buyers who want more input over the process rather than a simple one-button loaf. That matters if different flours, sourdough methods or recipe tweaks are part of the plan, not just standard white bread.
A: The main trade-offs are bench space, longer cycle times and a loaf shape that differs from many oven-baked breads. Like most bread makers, it also leaves a paddle hole in the loaf base, so presentation is not as neat as a hand-shaped tin loaf.
