Fabric care suitability score
9/10 - Wide program choice, auto dosing and adjustable temperatures support a broad range of everyday fabrics.
Water efficiency rating
5 star WELS, 67L per cycle
Family laundry fit
Excellent for medium to large families with frequent mixed loads and bedding washes
Noise level vs category average
6/10 - No specific low-noise claim is provided, so it is best treated as typical for the category.
Allergy suitability
5/10 - Broad temperature control helps with thorough washing, but no dedicated allergy or steam hygiene program is specified.
Key benefits
- 9.5kg Capacity: Handles larger weekly loads, helping reduce the number of wash cycles for busy households.
- 1600rpm Spin Speed: Extracts more water at the end of the cycle to help shorten drying time.
- 28 Wash Programs: Gives flexible care options for jeans, wool, shirts, bedding and quick washes.
- Auto Dosing: Automatically measures detergent and fabric conditioner to simplify day-to-day washing.
- Temperature Control from Cold to 90°C: Lets you tailor washing conditions to different fabric types and soil levels.
- Wi-Fi with ConnectLife: Adds app-based connectivity for convenient monitoring and control.
- TFT Full Colour Touch Display and Jog Dial: Makes program selection and settings easier to see and use.
- 5 Star Energy Rating: Delivers strong energy performance with estimated annual energy consumption of 229kWh.
Q: Does the auto dosing system mean you stop measuring detergent?
A: Yes. This washer can measure detergent and fabric conditioner automatically, which helps avoid guesswork from load to load. It still needs the correct products filled in, so it may not suit buyers who prefer to dose every wash by hand.
Q: Will the 1600rpm spin speed leave clothes ready for drying?
A: It can shorten drying time because a faster final spin removes more water before the load comes out. The 1600rpm speed is useful for heavier everyday loads, but delicate fabrics and some programs may use a lower spin to suit the wash.
Q: Can I wash doonas and bedding in this 9.5kg washer?
A: Yes, for many household bedding loads. The 9.5kg drum and bedding program suit bulkier items better than a smaller washer, but a single very heavy item can still be too much if it absorbs a large amount of water during the cycle.
Q: How useful is Wi-Fi on this ASKO front load washer?
A: Wi-Fi adds ConnectLife connectivity, so the washer can be part of a connected laundry setup. ASKO W7956XLG.AU also has a TFT full colour touch display and jog dial, so day-to-day control stays on the machine if you do not want app use.
Q: What does the add clothes option actually let you do?
A: It lets you pause and add an item after the wash has started, which is handy for a missed sock or shirt. It is a convenience feature rather than a full restart, so access depends on where the cycle has reached and whether opening is allowed.
Q: Is this ASKO washer better for large households or smaller loads?
A: This model suits busy households because the 9.5kg capacity handles larger weekly loads without splitting them as often. It can still wash smaller loads, but buyers with light laundry habits may find a smaller drum easier to match to daily use.
