At a glance
The Theragun Pro Plus is a premium recovery massager that combines deep percussive therapy with vibration, heat and near infrared LED light therapy. It suits active users, regular gym-goers and anyone wanting guided muscle treatment at home. Key strengths are its 16 mm amplitude, ergonomic triangle grip and app-connected routines. One limitation is that battery life of around 150 minutes may feel modest for very frequent or shared use.

Things to consider
It offers more therapy modes than many standard massage guns, but its average battery life of 150 minutes may be less convenient than some recovery devices designed for longer sessions or multi-user households.
Muscle relief effectiveness
9/10 - strong deep-tissue action from 16 mm amplitude plus multiple therapy modes for targeted recovery.
Ease of use score
8.5/10 - ergonomic triangle grip, guided routines and attachment options make it approachable despite its advanced feature set.
Portability rating
7/10 - handheld and rechargeable, but better suited to home or gym-bag transport than ultra-light travel use.
Noise level vs category average
About average for a high-powered premium massage gun
Family suitability
Best for adult users who want adjustable recovery options; especially useful in active households, though shared use may make the 150-minute battery life feel limiting.
Key benefits
- 16 mm amplitude: Delivers deep percussive massage that can better target stubborn muscle soreness after training.
- Triangle grip: Makes it easier to hold the device from different angles when reaching varied muscle groups.
- Five included attachments: Lets you tailor treatment feel and coverage for different body areas and recovery needs.
- Built-in heat therapy: Adds a warming option with 3 temperature levels of 45 °C, 50 °C and 55 °C to help loosen stiff muscles.
- Near infrared LED light therapy: Expands treatment options for users who want more than standard percussion alone.
- Vibration therapy attachment: Offers a gentler massage option for sensitive areas and joint-focused use, with 3 speed choices.
- Bluetooth app connectivity: Supports guided routines and device control through the Therabody app for a more structured recovery experience.
- USB-C charging: Uses a common charging format that is convenient for regular top-ups between sessions.
Q: Does the Theragun Pro Plus include a heated massage attachment?
A: Yes. Theragun Pro Plus includes a heat therapy attachment with 3 temperature levels, 45C, 50C and 55C. That gives you a warm-up option alongside percussion, rather than relying on the standard massage heads alone.
Q: Is there a gentler setting for joints and sensitive areas?
A: Yes. Theragun Pro Plus includes a vibration therapy attachment designed for joints and more sensitive areas, with 3 speed options. That gives you an alternative to the deeper 16mm percussive setting when full-force massage feels too aggressive.
Q: Can I control this massage gun from the Therabody app?
A: Yes. Theragun Pro Plus connects by Bluetooth to the Therabody app for guided routines and device control. It also has an LCD screen on the unit, so app connection adds structure and guidance rather than being the only way to use it.
Q: How long does the battery last on the Theragun Pro Plus?
A: Theragun Pro Plus has an average battery life of 150 minutes. That is enough for multiple sessions between charges, but runtime will depend on how often you use features such as heat therapy rather than percussion alone.
Q: Can the triangle grip help reach awkward muscle groups more easily?
A: Yes. The patented triangle grip gives you more hand positions, which makes it easier to change angles on areas like the back, shoulders and legs. The five included attachments also help tailor contact points for different muscle groups.
Q: Does it charge by USB-C or need a special charger?
A: It charges by USB-C. That is easier to fit into a home or gym setup than an older proprietary charging plug, but charging speed is not the same thing as battery life, so plan around the 150-minute average runtime rather than cable type alone.
Q: What does the near infrared LED add beyond percussion massage?
A: The near infrared LED is an extra therapy mode, not a replacement for the massage heads. Theragun Pro Plus combines percussion, vibration, heat and LED options in one device, so you can switch therapies instead of using a single massage style only.
