It suits renters and beginners thanks to adhesive mounting, app control and broad voice assistant support. Its key strengths are custom scenes, expandability and stylish design. The main limitation is that the 4-panel kit is best for smaller accent layouts rather than large statement walls.

Energy efficiency score
7/10 - LED panels are long-lasting with a 25,000 hour rated lifetime, though this kit is designed more for decorative accent lighting than maximum room illumination.
Mood lighting suitability
9/10 - Excellent for ambience thanks to 16 million colours, custom scenes and modular wall-based presentation.
Diy installation friendliness
9/10 - Adhesive pad mounting makes setup straightforward for most users without needing to drill into walls.
Key benefits
- 16 Million Colours: Delivers a wide range of lighting looks for ambience, décor matching and personalised scenes.
- Modular Triangle Panels: Lets you create a custom wall layout that can suit small spaces or grow over time.
- Adhesive Mounting Pads: Makes installation simple without drilling, which is especially useful for renters.
- Voice Assistant Support: Works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit for hands-free control.
- IFTTT Compatibility: Supports automation routines that can link lighting behaviour with other smart home actions.
- 80 Lumens Per Panel: Provides gentle accent lighting across the four-panel kit for mood-focused setups.
- 25,000 Hour Rated Lifetime: Offers long-term use before replacement is likely to be needed.
- Customisable Lighting Scenes: Makes it easy to switch between different colours and moods for work, relaxation or play.
Q: Are four Nanoleaf triangles enough for a noticeable wall feature?
A: Yes, for a small accent area. This kit includes 4 panels, so it suits a bedside wall, desk setup or compact workspace better than a full feature wall. If you want a larger layout, expansion packs can build the design out over time.
Q: How bright is this kit in a bedroom or gaming setup?
A: Nanoleaf Triangles Starter Kit is designed for decorative lighting rather than main room lighting. Each panel produces 80 lumens, which works best for colour ambience behind a desk, bed or monitor, not for replacing a ceiling light.
Q: Can this starter kit be expanded or mixed with other Shapes panels?
A: Yes. This starter kit can be expanded if you want a larger layout, and it is compatible with other Shapes panels in the range. That makes it a practical starting point if 4 panels is enough now but not your final design.
Q: Do Nanoleaf Triangles work without Google, Alexa or Apple HomeKit?
A: Yes. Nanoleaf Triangles can be used with app and remote control features, so a voice assistant is optional rather than required. Voice control support is there for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit if you already use them.
Q: Can these Nanoleaf panels be removed without drilling the wall?
A: Yes. The panels mount with adhesive pads, so they suit renters or spaces where drilling is not ideal. Surface condition still matters, and adhesive mounting is better for lightweight accent panels than for frequent repositioning.
Q: How long should the Nanoleaf Triangles panels last with regular use?
A: Nanoleaf rates the panels for a 25,000 hour lifetime. That suits long-term accent lighting, but it is still a decorative system, so the bigger decision is whether 4 panels gives you enough coverage for the space.
