At a glance
The Logitech G522 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset is a versatile option for gamers who switch between PC, mobile and wired USB play. It stands out for flexible connectivity, clear voice pickup, strong in-game audio and a lightweight 280 g fit. It suits regular to enthusiast players who want comfort and easy customisation. The main limitation is that its noise isolation is solid rather than class-leading for very loud environments.

Things to consider
It offers strong all-round performance and flexibility, but specialist esports or studio-focused headsets may deliver stronger passive isolation or more purpose-built tuning for a single use case.
Microphone clarity score
9/10 - 48 kHz/16-bit mic quality supports clear in-game chat and strong streaming voice pickup.
Long session comfort rating
9/10 - lightweight 280 g design, suspension band and rounded ear cushions are well suited to extended use.
Competitive gaming suitability
8.5/10 - low-latency Lightspeed wireless and clear audio suit competitive play, though isolation is not the most specialised for noisy settings.
Platform compatibility
PC, mobile devices and other USB or Bluetooth-compatible setups via Lightspeed USB, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB wired connection
Noise isolation effectiveness
7.5/10 - ear cushions provide useful passive isolation for home gaming, but they are not the strongest option for very loud environments.
Key benefits

- 20 Hz to 20 kHz Frequency Response: Covers the full standard hearing range so effects, dialogue and music come through clearly.
- Lightweight 280 g Build: Helps reduce fatigue during extended sessions compared with heavier gaming headsets.
- Washable Suspension Band: Makes it easier to keep the headset fresh over time while supporting comfort.

Q: Does this headset work with Xbox consoles or just PC and mobile?
A: Xbox compatibility is not listed for this model. Logitech G522 supports LIGHTSPEED wireless via USB, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB wired on supported devices, so console use depends on whether the device accepts one of those audio connection types.
Q: Can I keep using it if the battery runs low?
A: Yes. Logitech G522 can run in USB wired mode with a USB-A to USB-C connection, so you are not limited to wireless only. It is not a 3.5mm analogue headset, so the device you connect to needs to support USB audio.
Q: Is LIGHTSPEED or Bluetooth better for PC gaming on this headset?
A: For PC gaming, LIGHTSPEED via USB is the better fit when low-latency audio matters. Bluetooth 5.3 is useful for compatible mobile devices and everyday listening, but it is not the connection mode highlighted for the most responsive PC play.
Q: Does the Logitech G522 have active noise cancelling for noisy rooms?
A: No. Logitech G522 uses a cushioned over-ear design to reduce some everyday background noise, but it is not a dedicated active noise-cancelling headset. In a louder room, some outside sound can still come through during quieter game scenes.
Q: How clear is the microphone for squad chat and casual streaming?
A: Logitech G522 uses a 48 kHz/16-bit microphone, which gives clearer voice pickup than basic chat mics. Blue VO!CE support also lets you adjust how your voice sounds, which is useful if you want cleaner team chat or a more polished stream sound.
Q: Is this wireless headset heavy for longer gaming sessions?
A: Logitech G522 weighs 280 g, which is relatively light for an over-ear gaming headset. It also uses a suspension band and rounded ear cushions for longer sessions, and the band is washable if you use the headset regularly.
