Long cycles, great results
I had a lot of people say the combo units are awful and the cycle times are really long. And the latter part may be true, but if I set it and then 5.5 hours later my washing is completely washed and dried without my intervention then I say it’s a win. Wash times are as good as a regular machine and the 60 minute wash and dry (small loads only) is good in a pinch. The machine also runs very quietly which is a plus. We live in an apartment and we only had a small laundry space. This machine has been excellent so far and I would recommend.

Best Upgrade Ever
I upgraded from my older LG combo washer-dryer to the new 16 kg/10 kg model, and I couldn't be happier. The AI technology is impressive, accurately sensing the load and soil level to optimise each wash. The LG app is another standout feature, making it easy to track cycle progress and manage the machine remotely. It's made laundry simpler, smarter, and much more convenient.

Great combo machine
The machine is great especially for low temp drying which keeps the clothes in good condition and wrinkle free after drying. It is huge enough to wash whole week’s load at one time.

At a glance
This LG washer dryer combo is built for large households that need to wash bulky loads and everyday laundry in one machine. It stands out for its 16 kg wash capacity, 10 kg drying, app control, auto dosing and fast wash program. It is especially handy where you want one appliance instead of two, but drying capacity is lower than washing capacity.

- Large Family Laundry
- Bulky Bedding Loads
- Space-Saving Laundry Setups
- Remote Cycle Management
- Frequent Weekly Washing
Where it works best
- Family Homes
- Busy Laundry Rooms

Who it’s for
- Large Families
- Busy Households
- Apartment Dwellers
- Parents Managing Heavy Laundry Loads
- Users Wanting App-Controlled Laundry
Things to consider
While it saves space by combining washing and drying in one unit, the drying capacity is limited to 10 kg, so very large wash loads may need to be split before drying.
Small apartment suitability
Good for apartments needing one appliance instead of separate washer and dryer, though its large capacity may be more than smaller households need.
Family load fit
10/10 - Excellent for large households, bulky bedding, towels and high-volume weekly washing.
Energy efficiency score
7/10 - Strong 4.5 star washer rating, though the dryer is rated 3 stars.
All-in-one convenience rating
9/10 - Combines large-capacity washing and drying with app control, auto dosing and fast-cycle convenience.
Key benefits
- 16 kg Wash Capacity: Handles very large weekly loads, bulky towels and bedding with fewer wash cycles.
- 10 kg Dry Capacity: Lets you wash and dry substantial loads in the same appliance for less laundry handling.
- ThinQ App Control: Start, monitor and adjust cycles remotely for added convenience during busy days.
- Ai dd: Automatically tailors fabric care to help treat different laundry types more intelligently.
- ezDispense Auto Dosing: Automatically measures detergent to simplify washing and reduce guesswork.
- Turbo Clean 360: Washes 3 kg of clothes in 39 minutes, useful for quick-turnaround loads.
- 4.5 Star Washer Energy Rating: Offers strong washing efficiency under the Australian Energy Rating system.
- 4 Star WELS Rating: Uses 164 L per wash cycle, giving clear water-use performance for a large-capacity machine.
Q: Can this combo wash and dry a full 16kg load?
A: No. LG WXLC-1016GX can wash 16kg, but the drying function is designed for loads up to 10kg. If you wash more than that, the load will usually need to be split before drying so clothes can dry more evenly.
Q: How long do wash and dry cycles usually take?
A: Combined wash-and-dry cycles are usually much longer than wash-only cycles on this type of appliance. LG WXLC-1016GX does have a Turbo Clean 360 wash that handles 3kg in 39 minutes, but that shortcut does not represent a full large load wash and dry.
Q: Does the LG WXLC-1016GX need a hot water connection?
A: No. LG WXLC-1016GX uses a cold wash only connection, so it does not need a separate hot water inlet. That suits laundries with a standard cold tap, and it can be a better match for delicate fabrics that benefit from cooler washing.
Q: What does ezDispense do on this LG washer dryer?
A: ezDispense automatically doses detergent for each wash, so there is less need to measure it by hand every time. That is useful for frequent family loads, but it still needs the correct detergent and regular refilling to work as intended.
Q: Can I control this washer dryer when I'm not home?
A: Yes. LG WXLC-1016GX works with the ThinQ app so cycles can be started, monitored and adjusted remotely. Remote features rely on app setup and a suitable home Wi-Fi connection, so they are most useful once the machine is connected properly.
Q: Is this large combo suitable for a small apartment laundry?
A: Yes, if the goal is replacing two appliances with one, but it is still a very large-capacity machine. LG WXLC-1016GX can save floor space versus separate units, though its overall size may still feel oversized in a tight laundry alcove.
Q: How does AI DD change washing on mixed fabric loads?
A: AI DD is designed to sense the load and adjust wash action for more appropriate fabric care. That helps on everyday mixed loads, but it does not replace choosing the right cycle when items need gentler treatment or separate washing.
