It's recommended to change the water filter in your LG fridge every 6 months. To do this, locate the water filter in the upper left corner of your fridge and remove the shelf at the bottom of it. Open the water filter cover and remove the filter before replacing it with the new water filter. Dispense 2.5 gallons of water to remove trapped air and contaminants, then reset the water filter indicator. Run 2.5 gallons of water after replacing to check for any leaks.
