Great Stick Vacuum
Bought to replace a V7, much improved suction and battery. Vacuumed low pile carpet with V7 then the V10, amazing the dust etc the V10 picked up. Similarly did tiles area with V7 then V10. the V10 laser light showed a lot of dust particles the V7 had failed to pick up. Very impressive and great value price at The Good Guys

Really good unit
Totally love the LED light, certainly shows the dirt on hard floors. Vacuum seems a little better than our old unit and seems to handle hair well. Only downside is the head has a line in the center that does not have suction and puts a line in your carpet when using.

V10 ... Not a Truck!
Having owned a Dyson V10 for a number of years it was a no brainer to get a new one. Fortunately, at The Good Guys Carseldine (our favourite store), the Dyson rep was there so explained to new model and all its features and as usual things were on sale, so we purchased a bargain. This new one is fool proof, strong yet light to use, probably more robust than the old one, more compact, emptying process simpler (but took a while to fathom), and comes with a charging station to install in a handy place, overall, a great product and terrific service from the Good Guys. Many thanks!

Great suction
Great suction and my favourite thing is the new rollers on the head. No more hair tangled around the rollers due to the new design. Would definitely recommend to others

At a glance
The Dyson V10 Konical Cordless Vacuum is a premium stick vacuum for households wanting strong cordless cleaning, especially where long hair, pet hair and hard-floor dust are common. Its key strengths are 150 Air Watts of suction, de-tangling conical brush bars, illumination and HEPA filtration. One limitation is that maximum power and stated performance claims rely on Boost mode, which reduces runtime compared with Eco mode.
What it’s great for
- Whole-home cleaning
- Pet hair pickup
- Hard floor cleaning
- Mixed floor homes
- Everyday cordless cleaning
Where it works best
- Apartments
- Family homes
- Multi-surface homes
- Homes with pets
- Hard-floor living areas
Who it’s for
- Pet owners
- Busy households
- Apartment dwellers
- Homeowners wanting cordless convenience
- Users dealing with long hair
Things to consider
Its headline suction and hair-removal performance are tested in Boost mode, so everyday runtime can be shorter than the quoted 60 minutes depending on power mode, floor type and attachments.
Pet hair performance score
9/10 - Designed to de-tangle and remove long hair and pet hair, with conical brush bars that help send hair directly into the bin.
Carpet vs hard floor suitability
Strong on both; nylon bristles dig into carpets while soft fibres and illumination make it especially effective on hard floors.
Portability rating
9/10 - Cordless stick format and handheld conversion make it easy to carry around the home for quick cleans.
Noise level vs category average
About average for a high-performance stick vacuum; expect more noticeable noise in higher power modes.
Allergy friendliness
8/10 - Fully sealed five-stage HEPA filtration captures 99.99% of particles down to 0.1 microns, supporting cleaner exhaust air.
Key benefits
- 150 Air Watts suction: Delivers strong cordless cleaning power for lifting dust and debris from everyday household floors.
- Dual conical brush bars: Spirals and de-tangles hair up to 60 cm straight into the bin, helping reduce manual brush cleaning.
- Illumination on hard floors: A central blade of light helps reveal fine dust and dirt that can be hard to see in normal lighting.
- HEPA filtration: Captures 99.99% of microscopic particles as small as 0.1 microns for cleaner exhaust air.
- Up to 60 minutes runtime: Gives longer cleaning sessions in Eco mode for whole-home cordless use.
- 15 cyclones: Increases airflow and helps maintain consistent dust separation for fade-free suction.
- Motor speed up to 110,000 rpm: Generates powerful suction from a compact digital motor.
- Handheld conversion: Quickly changes from stick vacuum to handheld for stairs, upholstery and car interiors.
Q: Does the Dyson V10 Konical use a trigger, or can it stay on while cleaning?
A: It uses triggerless operation, so cleaning starts and stops with an on and off control rather than holding a trigger down the whole time. That can make longer sessions, stairs and car cleaning less tiring than older trigger-style Dyson stick vacuums.
Q: Is the light on the cleaner head useful on carpet as well as hard floors?
A: The light is most useful on hard floors, where it is designed to reveal fine dust and dirt that can be hard to see in normal room lighting. On carpet, it is less of a headline feature, so the main benefit there is suction and brush action rather than dust illumination.
Q: How well does the Dyson V10 Konical deal with long hair and pet hair?
A: It is designed for hair-heavy homes, with two rotating conical brush bars that remove and de-tangle hair instead of wrapping it tightly around the head. Dyson states it can handle hair up to 25 inches, which is about 60cm, when tested in Boost mode.
Q: What battery life should you realistically expect from the Dyson V10 Konical?
A: Battery life is up to 60 minutes in Eco mode when used as a handheld. Actual runtime will be shorter with the main floor head, on carpet, or in higher power modes, so whole-home cleaning time depends on floor type and which attachments are being used.
Q: Can the Dyson V10 Konical self-empty after cleaning?
A: Yes, this model can be paired with Dyson's Auto-empty Dok for automatic emptying after each clean, but the dock is a separate accessory rather than part of the standard vacuum. Without that dock, bin emptying is still done manually in the usual way.
Q: Is the Dyson V10 Konical a worthwhile upgrade from an original Dyson V8?
A: Yes, if battery life and suction are the main reasons for upgrading. Dyson states this model has 30% more suction than the original V8 and delivers 50% more runtime in Eco mode, while also adding features like hair de-tangling and hard-floor dust illumination.
