  Great little Robovac

  Overall a good machine that saves a lot of time and the house is cleaned more often. This is the first robovac I have purchased and I am impressed, it cleans well. It was a worthwhile purchase during black Friday sales and it is a good machine if you spend some time setting it up. The accessories at the moment are not in retail shops if that is a consideration. We have half carpet and half tiles with step ups where they join and that is one reason for purchasing this robovac. Another reason is that I preferred a roller mop to pads or spinning disks for mopping. More specifically - Vacuuming : very good on tiles, but occasionally flicks specs out of its path and tiny amounts left in corners. On carpet, it is also very good, but we have a reasonably new carpet and the fluff is not able to be cleared by the base station from the onboard bin. Now that I know, it is easy to pause the vac and clear the onboard bin. Otherwise you get fluff balls left and it stops picking up debris. We have a fluffy dog and it has no problems picking up that hair without tangling the brushes. Mopping: very good with our tiles. The floor is clean without leaving water marks. Also the detergent use is very economical. The mop cleaning system is brilliant. Base station: the water tanks are easy to empty or fill as is the detergent containers. As mentioned earlier the new carpet fluff is unable to be cleared from the onboard bin. The mop cleaning is seamless and there are no smells or water leaks. (Note, there is a bit of moisture under the ramp during mopping so do not put base station on carpet without some waterproof barrier. We use a plastic office chair mat and have had no problems. Cleaning the station is simple. Navigation: no worries, it does what it has to and cleans everywhere. Mapping was done easily and accurately in about 10-15 minutes. App: it’s a good app. Because I couldn’t help myself, I programmed the room order in the app to separate carpet sequence and tile sequence to minimise traversing the carpet during mopping. Also, I put some barriers and passable steps to avoid it thinking too much about how to negotiate those areas. Programming: I found the auto genius out of the box didn’t live up to my expectations so have set up custom profiles that make it a lot better. Firstly, I didn’t like mop and vac, so use either vac then mop or run a vac cycle and then a mop cycle only for the tiles. Secondly, I increased the vacuuming to intensive and that does a better job than standard. Thirdly, while most areas are cleaned well on a single pass, I changed the entryway to 2 passes as that gets pretty filthy. Battery life: good. It will do a complete house vacuum cycle, but needs to recharge half way through the secondary mopping cycle. We have a modest single level house of approximately 150m2. Obstacle avoidance. Very good, it avoids wires from the Christmas tree and various charge cables. It is also good at bypassing the dog as he walks around.

  Good but with some cons

  Excellent cleaning performance, but can’t turn on pet mode as the robot didn’t detect pet zones. They can’t be added manually. Also, it consumes a lot of water so I have to add it every other day.
