Brilliant easy to use machine
I love Bosch washing machines..this is my 3rd. Love it's size, I can fit everything in in it. Doing less loads each week - saving money. Spins washing very dry, the clothes take very little time to dry on the line.

Not as good as our previous Bosch
We loved our old Bosch front loader - it died after 5 years, just wouldn't spin and drain anymore and we were told by the team at the Good Guys that this is the normal life span for a washing machine. We bought the same version washing machine in a newer model and here's what we like and don't like. We like that it cleans well. We don't like that the beep to announce the load is done is very soft - you can't hear it from the next room, much less from upstairs. We don't like that there is no duvet setting anymore for washing heaving loads like our Oodies. We don't like that there is no longer a drum clean setting. This machine feels like a step backwards, less features and poorer usability.

Key benefits
- 10 kg Capacity: Handles large household loads and bulky items like king-size bedding more easily.
- 1400 rpm Spin Speed: Extracts more water from clothes to help reduce drying time after washing.
- 12 Wash Programs: Gives flexibility for cotton, wool, hand wash, delicate, sportswear, and stain-focused care.
- Load Sensing: Adjusts water and energy use for smaller loads instead of treating every wash the same.
- 4.5 Star WELS Rating: Uses 86 L per wash, helping keep water use reasonable for a 10 kg machine.
- 5.5 Star Energy Rating: Estimated annual energy consumption of 185 kWh helps keep running costs lower.
- Reload Function: Lets you add missed items after the cycle has started for added convenience.
- SilentPowerDrive Motor: Designed for quieter operation while supporting dependable everyday washing.
Q: Will this Bosch washer fit a standard laundry space?
A: Usually, yes for a standard freestanding laundry bay. Bosch WGG254Z1AU measures 845 mm high, 598 mm wide and 590 mm deep, but that depth does not include hose space or the door swing needed for comfortable loading.
Q: Can you add forgotten items after the cycle starts?
A: Yes. Bosch WGG254Z1AU has a Reload function, so small missed items can be added after the program has started. Access still depends on the wash stage and water level, so it may not open once conditions are unsafe.
Q: Does it have Wi-Fi or app control built in?
A: No. Bosch WGG254Z1AU focuses on core wash features and does not list Wi-Fi or app control. It suits buyers who want straightforward operation at the machine, rather than remote alerts or phone-based program control.
Q: Is the 10kg drum practical for king size bedding?
A: Yes. The 10 kg capacity is suited to larger household loads and bulky items such as king-size bedding. For heavy absorbent pieces, washing fewer items together usually gives the drum more room to lift and rinse properly.
Q: How quiet is the Bosch WGG254Z1AU during everyday washing?
A: Bosch WGG254Z1AU uses a SilentPowerDrive motor, so it is designed for quieter everyday running. It is still a full-size 1400 rpm washer, so spin cycles can remain noticeable, especially in compact laundries or on hard floors.
Q: Does this model have a steam or refresh cycle?
A: No. Bosch WGG254Z1AU lists 12 wash programs plus automatic stain removal, but it does not list a steam or refresh cycle. If garment freshening without a full wash is important, choose a model that specifically names that function.
Q: What leak protection does Bosch WGG254Z1AU include for washing?
A: Bosch WGG254Z1AU includes an AquaSecure water protection system. That adds a layer of protection against certain water faults, but it does not replace correct hose installation, secure taps and routine checks for wear over time.
