Bosch 9kg front loader
A very good buying experience, a reasonable price and a no pressure sale. Our first front loader machine. Washers operation is quite straight forward. Machine is very stable and quite in operation. We selected a German made washer hoping for a quality machine. To date very happy with the machines washing and spinning performance

At a glance
This 9kg Bosch front load washer is a strong fit for households of three to five people wanting quiet operation, flexible fabric care and faster cycle options. It stands out for its EcoSilence Drive motor, SpeedPerfect and specialised programs for delicates, wool and stains. The main limitation is that it uses a single cold water inlet, so it may offer less setup flexibility than some premium alternatives.

Things to consider
It offers strong all-round performance, but buyers wanting steam-based hygiene programs or hot water inlet flexibility may prefer more specialised premium models.
Fabric care suitability score
8.5/10 - Strong fabric care flexibility with delicates, wool and stain programs, plus reload support for everyday convenience.
Water efficiency rating
4.5 star WELS, 78L per wash
Family laundry fit
Well suited to households of 3 to 5 people with a practical 9kg drum for mixed daily and weekly loads.
Noise level vs category average
8/10 - Quieter than many standard front loaders thanks to the EcoSilence Drive motor.
Allergy suitability
6.5/10 - Good general washing performance, but not as specialised for allergy-focused care as models with dedicated steam or hygiene programs.
Key benefits
- 9kg Capacity: Handles everyday clothing, towels and larger bedding loads for households of three to five people.
- EcoSilence Drive Motor: Helps keep wash cycles quieter, making it easier to run loads in open-plan or nearby living spaces.
- SpeedPerfect: Reduces wash time when you need clothes cleaned sooner without changing to a separate quick program.
- Super Quick 15/30 Programs: Gives you fast wash options for lightly soiled items and last-minute laundry needs.
- Automatic Load Sensing: Adjusts water levels to suit each load, supported by a 4.5 star WELS rating and 78L water use per wash.
- 5 Star Energy Rating: Delivers strong energy performance with estimated annual energy consumption of 215kWh.
- Specialised Fabric Programs: Includes delicates, wool and stain removal settings to help care for a wider range of garments.
- Reload Function: Lets you add forgotten items after the cycle has started, reducing the need for an extra wash.
Q: Will this Bosch washer fit under a standard laundry benchtop
A: Yes, in many laundries. Bosch WGG24403AU is 848mm high, 598mm wide and 636mm deep, so the cabinet opening must clear the machine itself plus room for the door, hoses and airflow at the rear.
Q: Can you add forgotten clothes after the wash starts
A: Yes. Bosch WGG24403AU has a reload function that lets you pause the cycle and add missed items partway through. It is handy for a stray sock or shirt, but access depends on the wash stage and water level.
Q: Does this model have steam or a dedicated allergy cycle
A: No. Bosch WGG24403AU focuses on core washing functions such as temperature control, load sensing and fabric-specific programs, rather than steam refresh or a dedicated allergy setting. Choose accordingly if those extras matter.
Q: Is SpeedPerfect best for full loads or everyday washing
A: SpeedPerfect is best suited to everyday loads when getting through washing quickly matters more than running the longest standard cycle. For a tightly packed drum or bulky items, a regular program is the better fit.
Q: Does it save water on smaller day-to-day loads
A: Yes. Bosch WGG24403AU uses automatic load sensing, which adjusts water use to suit the size of the wash. That makes it a better fit for mixed weekly washing than a machine that uses the same fill pattern every time.
Q: Can it handle bedding and towels for a family home
A: Yes. The 9kg drum suits larger household loads, so it can take on bedding, towels and everyday clothing without needing as many separate washes. Very bulky items can still be better split to keep movement and rinse performance strong.
Q: Is it quiet enough for apartments and open-plan homes
A: Yes. Bosch WGG24403AU uses an EcoSilence Drive motor, so it is designed for quieter operation than many basic washers. That suits apartments or open-plan areas, although spin noise is still more noticeable than the wash phase.
