Such fun colours!
The colours change so fluently it’s so pretty. But I think it can be a waste of power. I don’t know how much power uses access to produce the colour. And I think that it will only be used for SPC which is I guess what you’re buying but so it’s less versatile in terms of like other types of heads you can pick from.

Things to consider
This cable is best for devices and chargers that still use USB-A. Premium alternatives with USB-C to USB-C can offer faster charging or broader support for newer high-power devices.
Home office suitability
8/10 - A handy cable for desk charging and occasional file transfers, especially if your computer or charger still uses USB-A.
Gaming compatibility score
5/10 - Fine for charging accessories or transferring files, but it is not a specialist gaming cable or high-power connection option.
Student use fit
9/10 - Affordable, easy to use and practical for charging phones, earbuds and power banks in study or dorm setups.
Device compatibility range
Works with USB-C phones, earbuds, power banks and some tablets that connect to a USB-A charger or computer port.
Plug-and-play simplicity
Very easy - connect the USB-A end to a powered USB port and the USB-C end to your device for immediate charging or data use.

Q: Will this Techxtras glowing cable work with any USB-C device?
A: It works with devices that have a USB-C port and can connect to a USB-A source. It is not suitable for Lightning or Micro-USB devices, and charging speed will still depend on the phone, tablet or accessory connected.
Q: Can this cable fast charge a laptop or just smaller USB-C devices?
A: No, this cable is better suited to phones, earbuds, power banks and some tablets. It supports 3A charging over USB-A, not higher-power USB-C Power Delivery typically used by most laptops for faster charging.
Q: Does the glowing RGB effect need an app, battery or special setup?
A: No, the light effect is built into the cable and runs when the cable is connected to powered USB equipment. There is no app control mentioned, so it should be treated as an always-on visual feature rather than a customisable one.
Q: Will this cable always transfer data at 5Gbps?
A: No, 5Gbps is the cable's supported data rate when used with a compatible USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port and device. If either end is slower, such as an older USB port or a charge-only adaptor, transfer speeds will drop or data may not work.
Q: Can this cable charge and transfer files at the same time?
A: Yes, it supports charging and data transfer through the same cable when connected to a data-capable USB-A port. For best results, use a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 computer or hub, as many wall chargers supply power only and do not transfer files.
