Quality headphones
Bought these for my 18 year old grandson. They are expensive but got them for a good price with a price match and they are high quality headphones. He loves them and says they are comfortable to wear and the noise canceling feature is great.

Top Notch Noise Cancelling
They are super quiet & work so well. Game changer at work & when flying. I bought these 3 days before a long haul flight & slept 11hrs of my 14hr flight. Amazing !!! Could not believe the noise difference.

An overall perfect set of headphones for work and travel
I can't get enough of these headphones, they have amazing noise cancelling especially when I'm at work and there's a lot of background noise, it completely cancels all that noise out. They are also amazing at handling zoom and teams calls as well, and the sound quality is also top tier. Very light-weight, but not as portable as the XM4's due to it being not able to fold, but the build is still great and it feels so comfortable to wear around. I was only disappointed by The Good Guys' delivery time, after 3 weeks of waiting I had to contact them to get an update and it was only then did they decide to ship it from another store. If I didn't contact them, I would've had to wait forever for them to arrive.

Very disappointed in the overall service
Very disappointed with the service provided by goodguys. I placed an order for these headphone solely because of delivery as i was leaving the country. Only to find out the delivery was then delayed by a week so I requested a refund. To this date I still havent got a refund or an email back from the store. Ive been trying to contact different stores but they cannot help as they werent the ones to sell me the headphones. I will continue to complain and leave reviews until Im refunded my money for this bad service

Things to consider
Excellent for mainstream premium listening and travel, but listeners chasing a more analytical or highly custom audiophile-style sound may prefer more specialist headphones.
Noise cancelling effectiveness
9/10 - Strong performance for travel and office noise, with effective reduction of common low and mid frequency distractions.
All-day comfort score
8.5/10 - Lightweight 0.25 kg design and soft-fit earpads support long listening sessions with less fatigue.
Commuter suitability
9/10 - Excellent for trains, flights and daily travel thanks to ANC, long battery life and a travel-friendly case.
Audiophile vs casual fit
Best suited to premium everyday listeners who want comfort, clarity and convenience over specialist audiophile tuning.
Multi-device flexibility
9/10 - Multipoint Bluetooth makes it easy to stay connected to two devices and switch between work and personal use.
Key benefits
- Active Noise Cancelling: Helps reduce airplane, commute and office noise so you can focus on music, podcasts or calls.
- 30-Hour Battery Life: Up to 30 hours per charge with noise cancelling on supports long workdays, flights and regular commuting.
- Multipoint Bluetooth: Connect to two devices at once for easier switching between calls on your phone and audio on your laptop.
- Lightweight 0.25 kg Build: Keeps the headphones easier to wear for extended listening sessions and travel.
- Four Beamforming Microphones: Improves voice pickup during calls so you sound clearer in busy environments.
- Touch Controls: Lets you manage playback, volume and calls directly from the earcup without reaching for your device.
- Flat-Swivelling Earcups with Carry Case: Makes the headphones easier to pack for commuting, storage and travel.
- Voice Assistant Support: Built-in support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa gives you hands-free help when connected.
Q: Can multipoint connect to my phone and laptop at the same time
A: Yes. Sony WH-1000XM5 can stay paired with two Bluetooth devices at once, such as a phone and a laptop, so switching between music and calls is easier. Multipoint is for two devices only, not several devices waiting in the background.
Q: How good are these for work calls in a noisy office
A: Sony WH-1000XM5 uses four beamforming microphones and AI-based noise reduction to focus on your voice during calls. It suits office, home office and café use better than basic headphones, but very loud outdoor noise can still come through.
Q: Do the XM5 sound bass-heavy or more balanced overall
A: Sony WH-1000XM5 is tuned for clear, balanced sound across music and podcasts rather than an exaggerated bass-forward sound. It suits everyday listening well, but buyers chasing a more analytical or specialist audiophile presentation may want a different style.
Q: Do these headphones fold down fully for carry-on travel
A: No. The earcups swivel flat and the case helps with packing, but the headband does not fold inward into a tighter bundle. They are travel-friendly, though they take more bag space than compact over-ear designs that fully collapse.
Q: Will the battery cover a long flight with noise cancelling on
A: Yes. Sony WH-1000XM5 runs for up to 30 hours per charge with noise cancelling on, which covers most flights and stopovers. If you listen with noise cancelling off, battery life extends to up to 40 hours, but that changes the travel use case.
