Things to consider
It delivers a strong standard PS5 experience, but it offers less button remapping, hardware tuning, and competitive-focused adjustability than specialist pro controllers.
Platform compatibility
PlayStation 5
Competitive gaming suitability
7/10 - responsive and comfortable for regular competitive play, but lacks the extra remapping and tuning options of dedicated pro controllers.
Comfort score
9/10 - lightweight 0.28 kg build and ergonomic shape make it well suited to extended sessions.
Customisation flexibility
5/10 - strong out-of-box experience, but limited physical customisation compared with enthusiast-grade alternatives.
Portability rating
8/10 - compact wireless design is easy to move between rooms or pack for travel, though it is still best protected in a case.
Key benefits
- Haptic Feedback: Adds more lifelike vibration detail to supported games so actions and environments feel more immersive.
- Adaptive Triggers: Varying trigger resistance helps make driving, shooting, and tool use feel more connected to on-screen actions.
- Built-in Microphone: Lets you jump into voice chat quickly without needing a separate mic for basic communication.
- 3.5 mm Headset Jack: Makes it easy to plug in a compatible wired headset for private audio and clearer chat.
- Ergonomic Design: The shaped grips and balanced layout support comfortable play during longer gaming sessions.
- Create Button: Gives players a quick way to capture and share gameplay moments directly from the controller.
- Wireless Connectivity: Helps keep your play space tidier and more flexible by reducing cable clutter during gameplay.
- Nova Pink Finish: Adds a bold, personalised look that stands out from standard controller colour options.
Q: Does the DualSense Nova Pink work with a PS4 console
A: No. The DualSense Wireless Controller Nova Pink is designed for PlayStation 5, and PS4 console compatibility is not part of its listed support. It also works with compatible PC, Mac, and mobile devices for households using more than one platform.
Q: Can I use this controller on PC Mac or mobile
A: Yes. This controller works with compatible PC, Mac, and mobile devices as well as PlayStation 5. Feature support can vary outside PS5, so game-specific functions such as haptic feedback or adaptive triggers may not be available everywhere.
Q: Do adaptive triggers and haptic feedback work in every game
A: No. Adaptive triggers and haptic feedback only work in supported games, so the effect depends on the title you play. In games without support, the controller still works for standard input, but those extra tactile features may not be used.
Q: Can you voice chat without plugging in a headset
A: Yes. The controller has a built-in microphone for quick voice chat without a separate headset. It also has a 3.5mm headset jack, which is the better option when you want private game audio or a wired headset connection.
Q: Is the PS5 Nova Pink controller rechargeable with USB-C
A: Yes. The DualSense Wireless Controller Nova Pink charges by USB Type-C, so it is a rechargeable controller rather than a replaceable-battery design. A USB-C connection also keeps charging simple if your gaming setup already uses that cable type.
Q: Will the Nova Pink colour affect any controller features
A: No. The Nova Pink finish changes the look, not the control layout or the listed feature set. This model keeps the same core DualSense functions, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, built-in microphone, 3.5mm jack, and USB-C charging.
