Great upgrade
Bought this as an upgrade for our older Phillips model. New model works more efficiently at heating. The viewing window is big improvement on being able to see how your cooking is going.

Very convenient for small family
Easy to clean as both of the trays can be taken out. The transparent glass views help to check whether foods are cooked or not. In between beeps reminds us to flip the foods to make it evenly cooked. Very easy to store after use.

Its main strengths are the roomy basket, cooking window, 16 programs and easy touch control. It is a good mid-range choice for versatile everyday cooking, though its XXL size takes up more bench space than smaller compact models.

8/10 - dishwasher-safe parts make routine cleanup simpler
Counter space friendliness
5/10 - the XXL 7.2L size is useful for family cooking but needs more bench space than compact air fryers
Beginner vs expert fit
Beginner-friendly with enough flexibility for more confident home cooks
Key benefits
- 7.2L XXL Capacity: Cooks up to 1.4kg of food in one batch, making it practical for family meals, meal prep and extra portions.
- Cooking Window: Lets you check progress without opening the fryer, helping you monitor food more easily.
- 16 Cooking Programs: Supports a wide range of recipes including dehydrate, grill, bake and roast.
- Rapid Air Plus Technology: Circulates hot air around the food for even cooking results inside and out.
- 40 to 200°C Temperature Range: Gives you flexibility for lower-temperature dehydrating through to high-heat roasting and crisping.
- Touch Controls with LED Screen: Makes selecting programs and adjusting settings straightforward for everyday use.
- Dishwasher-Safe Parts: Helps reduce cleanup time after cooking.
- Time and Energy Saving: Philips states it is designed to save time and energy when cooking compared with conventional oven use.
Q: Is this a single-basket air fryer or a dual-drawer model?
A: Philips NA342/00 is a single-basket air fryer with one large cooking zone. That suits bigger one-batch cooks such as family sides or a whole chicken, but it cannot cook two foods at different temperatures or finish times at once.
Q: Will it replace an oven for everyday family meals?
A: For many everyday meals, yes. Philips NA342/00 can air fry, roast, bake and grill in the one basket, so it can handle smaller oven jobs, but it does not replace a full-size oven when you need multiple trays cooking at once.
Q: Do the 16 programs remove guesswork for beginners?
A: They simplify starting points, but they do not remove all adjustment. Philips NA342/00 gives 16 preset cooking programs, and thicker cuts, fuller baskets or different coatings may still need extra time or a temperature change for the result you want.
Q: How useful is the viewing window when cooking?
A: The viewing window is practical, not just decorative. It lets you check browning without pulling the basket out, which helps avoid interrupting the cooking cycle, though it still does not give the split-zone control of a dual-basket design.
Q: Can this model dehydrate as well as air fry?
A: Yes. Philips NA342/00 runs from 40 to 200 degrees C and includes a dehydrate program, so it can handle lower-temperature drying as well as higher-heat crisping. It is still one basket, so dehydrating occupies the fryer for that whole run.
Q: Is the 7.2L basket too big for a small kitchen?
A: It depends on bench space more than household size. The XXL basket is useful if you cook family portions or meal prep, but this model takes more room than compact air fryers and is less suited to kitchens where storage space is tight.
Q: Are the basket parts easy to clean after greasy foods?
A: Yes. Philips NA342/00 has dishwasher-safe removable parts, which makes cleanup easier after foods like chips or crumbed chicken. The larger basket still means a bigger item to wash and store than a smaller compact air fryer.
