Good buy.
Produces a great small loaf suitable for a single person. Would have preferred more detailed recipes but that is a small consideration. quite pleased with my purchase. Used click and collect and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Brilliant little bread maker
We’ve had our Panasonic compact bread maker for quite a while now and absolutely love it. It gets used virtually every day and has been one of the best kitchen appliances we’ve ever purchased. The machine is simple to use, reliable, and consistently produces excellent bread with very little effort. Whether we’re making everyday sandwich loaves or trying different recipes, the results are always impressive. The compact size is perfect as it doesn’t take up too much bench space, yet still makes a generous loaf. What has impressed us most is how dependable it has been. Despite daily use, it continues to perform flawlessly. The aroma of fresh bread filling the house each morning is an added bonus. If you’re considering a bread maker, we highly recommend the Panasonic. It’s a quality appliance that has more than paid for itself and has become an essential part of our daily routine.

Game Changer
This is a game changer for small households. Makes the perfect size loaf for 1-2 people and you won't end up with a freezer full of half used loaves! The timer setting means we wake up to hot fresh bread at home whenever we like.

At a glance
The Panasonic Compact Bread Maker Black is a space-saving bread maker designed for singles or couples who want fresh homemade bread without excess waste. Its strengths are the compact footprint, 18 automatic programs, gluten-free options and smart temperature sensing for reliable results. The main limitation is its 400 g loaf size, which is less suitable for larger families or heavy batch baking.

Where it works best
- Compact kitchens
- Apartments
- Small households
- Everyday home kitchens
Who it’s for

- Gluten-free households
- Space-conscious cooks
Things to consider
Its 400 g loaf capacity is ideal for one or two people, but it is smaller than larger bread makers better suited to families or bigger batch baking.
Beginner friendliness
9/10 - Automatic programs, timer functions and simple controls make it easy for first-time bread maker users.
Bread variety suitability
8/10 - Strong variety for a compact unit, including whole wheat, brioche, cake, jam, pizza dough and gluten-free programs.
Family size fit
Best for singles or couples
Ease of cleaning
7/10 - Straightforward to maintain for routine use, though regular bread pan and paddle cleaning is still required.
Noise level rating
7/10 - Expected to be reasonable for a compact bread maker, though kneading cycles will still be noticeable in quiet kitchens.
Key benefits

- Four Gluten-Free Programs: Supports gluten-free bread, cake, pasta and pizza dough in one machine.

Q: Is the Panasonic Compact Bread Maker a good fit for a small household?
A: Yes. A compact bread maker is generally better suited to one or two people, because it is designed for smaller loaf sizes than a full-size machine. If you regularly bake for a family or want oversized loaves, a larger model will be a better match.
Q: What does the compact design change compared with a full-size bread maker?
A: The main trade-off is loaf capacity, not the basic bread-making process. A compact machine still mixes, kneads, proves and bakes in one pan, but it is better for smaller batches and takes up less bench space than a standard-sized unit.
Q: Can this Panasonic compact bread maker use supermarket bread mixes and plain flour recipes?
A: Yes, as long as the recipe or mix suits a compact loaf size. Standard bread flour recipes usually work well, but large premix packets made for 700g to 1kg loaves may need to be reduced so the dough does not overfill the pan during rising.
Q: Is a compact bread maker better than using the oven for everyday fresh bread?
A: It can be, especially for smaller households. A compact bread maker bakes inside its own chamber, so it is convenient for one loaf at a time and avoids heating the full oven, but it is less suitable for baking multiple loaves, rolls or large fruit breads.
