Q: Does the Logitech M196 connect without a USB receiver?
A: Yes. The M196 is a Bluetooth mouse, so it pairs directly with a compatible laptop, desktop or tablet and does not need a USB receiver. That makes it useful if your device has limited USB-A ports, but it also means the device must support Bluetooth.
Q: Is the Logitech M196 compatible with tablets as well as computers?
A: Yes, if the tablet supports Bluetooth mouse input. The M196 is best suited to devices that can pair with Bluetooth accessories, including many Windows, ChromeOS and Android devices. It may offer limited support on tablets that restrict pointer control.
Q: Is the Logitech M196 a good choice for left-handed and right-handed users?
A: Yes. The M196 has a simple ambidextrous shape that suits both left-handed and right-handed use, so it is a practical option for shared desks or basic everyday computing. It is designed more for comfort and portability than advanced ergonomic support.
Q: What is the main difference between the Logitech M196 and a 2.4GHz wireless mouse?
A: The main difference is connection type. The M196 uses Bluetooth instead of a USB dongle, so it keeps a USB port free and is easier to use with newer laptops. A 2.4GHz mouse can be simpler on devices without Bluetooth, but it needs the receiver connected.
