Q: Does the Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse need a USB dongle to work?
A: No. The Logitech M240 connects directly by Bluetooth, so it does not need a USB dongle or a spare USB port. It suits laptops and tablets with built-in Bluetooth, but it is not the right pick for devices that only support a 2.4GHz receiver.
Q: What devices can the Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse connect to?
A: The Logitech M240 is designed to work with Bluetooth-enabled Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux and Android devices. That gives it broad compatibility, but the device still needs Bluetooth support, as there is no wired or USB receiver connection.
Q: Is the Logitech M240 a good choice for quiet offices, study spaces or shared rooms?
A: Yes. This model uses SilentTouch technology to reduce click noise by 90%, so it is better suited to shared desks, libraries or late-night study than a standard clicky mouse. It keeps the familiar click feel, just with far less sound.
Q: How do you put the Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse into pairing mode?
A: To pair the Logitech M240, switch the mouse on and open the Bluetooth settings on the device you want to use. It is built for quick pair-and-play Bluetooth setup, so no dongle or extra port is needed, but the host device must support Bluetooth discovery.
Q: Why might the Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse not connect to some computers?
A: The usual reason is that the computer does not have Bluetooth, or Bluetooth is turned off or unavailable. The Logitech M240 is a Bluetooth-only mouse, so it cannot fall back to a USB receiver connection on older desktops or laptops without Bluetooth.
Q: How often will the battery need changing on the Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse?
A: Battery changes should be infrequent, because Logitech rates the M240 for 18 months of battery life under typical use with auto sleep enabled. Actual life varies with daily use and power settings, so heavier use can shorten the interval.
