The singing washing machine
We love the Lg 9kg Series 3AI front load washer. Combining great technology and great options, this machine is one of the best! We haven’t had a washing machine that lets you know it is finished by singing, so what a lovely surprise to hear the lovely tune at the end of the cycle.

LG quality to the fore
Our old LG front load needed to be replaced. After comparing options, we stayed true to LG and very impressed with the evolution of this model. Very quiet and great functionality to meet our needs.

Very good washing machine - happy with purchase.
Purchased this to replace the old top loader that stopped working. Very happy with this new LG 9kg Series 3 AiDD front loader. The range of washing cycles is good, very intuitive to use, clothes have come out beautifully and the cycles are quick (mostly) The Eco Cotton made can spin out to over 2.5hrs, but the Quick 14 and AI wash modes are great. Was delivered with an issue - the rubber seal around the front door wasn’t seated properly, however a visit from an LG service man a couple of days later fixed the issue - the LG team were great to deal with on the phone and online. He advised it was the first time he had seen a door seal that was like that. Happy with the machine except for one thing - the machine is loud - a lot louder than my old top loader, especially during the spin cycle. Have to close doors to stop the would going through the whole house. If they could dampen the sound it would be perfect. Happily recommend this unit.

Excellent washing machine - very happy with purchase
Very happy with my purchase of the LG 9kg AiDD front loader. Good range of wash cycles, the clothes have come out beautifully and fairly intuitive to use. Was delivered with the main seal around the front opening not seated correctly, but was fixed quickly by the LG service man that came out within a couple of days. It was the first time he had seen it in his history of working for LG. Simple to use, but trying to find clear instructions on how to use liquid bleach in a wash cycle has been harder. The machine is definitely a lot louder than my previous Samsung top loader - surprisingly loud enough to have to close doors to block sound, especially during the spin cycle. The Eco Cotton cycle does run into the +2.5hr time range but the quick 15m cycle and the AI cycle are very handy.

awesome feature
The LG 9kg washing machine is a great choice for a small family. The AI feature works really well, with the AI mode usually running for around an hour. It is noticeably quieter than older washing machines, and the 9kg capacity is more than enough for everyday family laundry.

Good machine
This Lg washing machine is a good choice if you have medium sized cloth wash. Quieter than the one i had before. Ai feature available, and mostly in this setting it takes about 1 hr wash time.

At a glance
This 9kg LG front load washer is a smart everyday option for small to medium households that want good load capacity, strong 1400RPM spinning and useful steam hygiene programs. AI DD and 6 Motion Wash help care for mixed fabrics, while ThinQ app control adds convenience. Its main limitation is that it is more of a practical mid-range model than a premium machine with larger capacity or advanced specialty cycles.

Well suited to small to medium households with regular weekly washing and occasional bedding loads.

Key benefits
- 9kg Capacity: Handles regular family washing and most bedding loads for small to medium households.
- 1400RPM Spin Speed: Extracts more water at the end of the cycle to help reduce drying time.
- AI DD Load Sensing: Adjusts wash motion to suit the fabric mix, helping protect clothes during everyday washing.
- LG ThinQ App Control: Lets you start, monitor and manage wash cycles from your smartphone.
- Steam and Allergy Care Programs: Supports more hygienic cleaning for households that want extra care for clothing and linens.
- 6 Motion Wash: Uses varied drum movements for gentler handling across different fabric types.
- 4.5 Star Energy Rating: Offers solid energy performance with estimated annual energy consumption of 275kWh.
- 4.5 Star WELS Rating: Uses 77L per wash cycle, giving it good water performance for a 9kg front load washer.
Q: Is 9kg enough for a small or medium household?
A: Yes. LG WX3-1409W has a 9kg drum that suits regular washing for small to medium households and can handle most bedding loads. It is less suitable if oversized or very bulky items are a frequent part of the weekly wash.
Q: Does the 1400RPM spin speed leave clothes noticeably drier?
A: Yes. LG WX3-1409W uses a 1400RPM spin to extract water thoroughly, so loads should come out less wet than with slower-spin models. It still does not replace proper drying, especially for thick fabrics or larger bedding pieces.
Q: Can I start and monitor this washer from my phone?
A: Yes. LG WX3-1409W works with the LG ThinQ app for remote start, monitoring and cycle management from a smartphone. App control adds convenience, but it still needs initial setup and a compatible home network to use those features.
Q: How useful is AI DD on mixed everyday laundry loads?
A: AI DD is most useful for mixed everyday loads because it senses the load and adjusts wash motion to suit the fabric mix. It helps with routine fabric care, but it does not remove the need to choose the right cycle for delicate or specialised items.
Q: What does the Allergy Care cycle actually add here?
A: The Allergy Care cycle adds a dedicated hygienic wash option, and steam is also available on this model for loads needing extra care. It is a practical inclusion for towels, sheets and everyday laundry, rather than a substitute for fabric-specific washing instructions.
Q: Does this LG front loader have auto dosing for detergent?
A: No. LG WX3-1409W does not include auto dosing, so detergent needs to be added manually for each wash. That keeps operation straightforward, but it misses the extra convenience and dispensing automation found on some higher-end front loaders.
Q: Will this washer be quiet enough for apartment living?
A: LG WX3-1409W is designed for controlled operation, and many buyers moving from older machines find it reasonably quiet in everyday use. Spin noise can still be noticeable, so it suits apartments best when the laundry is not directly beside quiet living or sleep areas.
