Its strengths are rich OLED picture quality, strong anti-reflective performance and excellent gaming support up to 120Hz. Things to consider
Its 97 inch size and 64.7kg weight mean it needs a very large room and is usually better wall mounted, making it less flexible to place than smaller premium OLED models.
Home theatre suitability score
10/10 - the 97 inch OLED panel, cinematic HDR support and strong large-room presence make it ideal for dedicated movie viewing.
Large room viewing fit
Excellent for large living rooms and home theatres, with a recommended viewing distance of 295cm.
Gaming performance rating
9/10 - 4K 120Hz, VRR, ALLM, AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC make it highly capable for premium gaming setups.
Smart home integration compatibility
Strong - supports Apple AirPlay, Apple Home, Google Home and LG ThinQ, with built-in voice control and far-field mic.
Wall mounting ease
Moderate - wall mounting is often the best option for this size, but the 64.7kg build means installation is best planned carefully.
Key benefits
- 97 inch OLED screen: delivers an immersive, cinema-scale picture that suits very large rooms and home theatre setups.
- Anti-reflective screen: helps reduce glare in bright rooms so the picture stays easier to see during daytime viewing.
- Alpha 11 AI Processor 4K Gen 3: improves motion handling and upscales lower-quality content for a cleaner 4K viewing experience.
- 4K at 120Hz support: gives smoother, more responsive gameplay for compatible consoles and gaming PCs.
- AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC: helps reduce screen tearing and stutter for more fluid gaming.
- Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG support: broad HDR compatibility helps movies, streaming and live content look more dynamic.
- Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, Apple AirPlay and Google Cast: makes it easier to stream content and connect with modern devices around the home.
- 5.5 star energy rating: offers strong energy performance for a very large TV, with estimated annual energy consumption of 835kWh.
Q: Can all four HDMI ports handle 4K 120Hz gaming devices?
A: Yes. All four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1 connections with VRR and ALLM support, so each one can handle 4K at 120Hz from compatible consoles or PCs. That is useful if you want to keep multiple gaming devices connected at the same time.
Q: Does the included mount replace buying a separate wall bracket?
A: Yes. LG includes a wall mount, and the TV also supports a 600 x 400 VESA pattern for planned installations. Because this is a 97 inch screen weighing 64.7kg, wall mounting usually suits the size better than a cabinet, even though a stand is included.
Q: What warranty cover do you get on the OLED panel?
A: LG OLED97G6PSA includes a 1 year manufacturer's warranty for the TV, plus an additional 4 year panel replacement cover for parts only. That extra cover is specific to the panel, so it is not the same as a full 5 year television warranty including labour.
Q: Is the built in audio enough for movies on this TV?
A: It can be, but room size matters. LG OLED97G6PSA has a 60W sound system with Dolby Atmos support, which is fine for everyday viewing, though a screen this large can benefit from a matching soundbar such as the LG SG10TY for fuller room sound.
Q: Can this TV run cloud gaming without a connected console?
A: Yes. LG OLED97G6PSA supports cloud gaming at up to 120Hz when the service and your connection support that mode. A fast, stable internet service is still important, and game availability depends on the cloud platform offered through the TV.
Q: How far back should you sit from a 97 inch screen?
A: The recommended viewing distance is 295cm. That suits a large living room or dedicated theatre space, and it is a useful check before buying because this screen can dominate smaller rooms even if the cabinet or wall space is wide enough.
